Your wife sounds like a smart woman.
She is, but I always find it amusing that she NEVER wants to directly ask for a large purchase and instead will “drop hints/observations” so that I come to the conclusion that I should ask if we can do it and then she gets to act like she is “giving in”.

It worked early on the relationship, but after 17 years of marriage… I am onto this heads I win, tails you lose strategy….

The_MT---$150-$19956-120-PVB-Oct-0/23, 240/24, 120/25- sent 7/16, taken 8/9

The_MT---$145-$26495-175-PVB-Sep-0/23, 178/24, 175/25-Seller pays 75% of 24 MFs, closing delayed until 11/5, international seller- sent 8/9, passed 9/3

After I had a second Poly taken in ROFR last month I found an international seller and was able to come to an agreement and “third time’s a charm” worked for me! Closing is delayed until November but I have some other Poly points that I will use for June 2025 and will use these ones for future trips. I’m so happy!!

This gives me hope that maybe I can sneak mine thru. Not an international seller though, but delayed closing. Great buy!!

My first DVC contract, so hoping it passes! 🙏
The 150 points for 2024 were not banked yet in the listing, but I did request that the seller bank them in case the process takes longer than expected and I am unable to bank them myself prior to the deadline.

My first DVC contract! We are thrilled as we love Aulani after our first visit there a little over a month ago. Prior to our son being born, we used to go to Hawaii almost every year but usually stayed in Waikiki when going to Oahu. He's 5 now, and it was his first time in Hawaii last month, and our first time back since he was born. We love Aulani and glad to call it our Home Resort now. Looking forward to some WDW trips every now and then too as I haven't been there since I was a kid, and my wife and son have never been.

Sometimes they pick contract A at $95 and not contract B at $94 and they’re the same UY and have similar points available and you just can’t explain it
Once I had it explained Disney could change Use Years on points in stock at will, I started to think they might be collecting based on Unit #s since if they have multiple contracts in the same Unit they could combine them differently when selling. My guess is there is an algorithm which is simply not easy for outsiders to parse.

Yeah, I agree with all of this.

DVC Resale Average Sales Prices for August 2024📈

Check out the average sales price of contracts sold from August 2023 through August 2024 by the DVC Resale Market!

IMO, That VDH price will continue to fall over the intermediate term as more contracts come on the market…. especially as DLFwd construction starts. Within 3-4 years, I foresee a @Jimmy Geppetto purchase in the $90pp range….

Haha, probably.

Huzzah!!! A little long in the ROFR process but very excited about this one! Sold my last contract in 2019 and this is my re-entry into DVC.
Welcome Back Home!!

I think it could either go way up or way down over the next decade. I am not sure which direction it will head though. I doubt it will stay where it is in value on the resale market.

LOL. I’ll never say never but that transient tax is a complete turnoff. Hoping the VGC refurb will be stunning. 🤞🏼

It’s just so hard to want resale points that have high dues and tax ($11.53 combined?), a high point chart, and lock you into one resort…. no chance of ever trying out Aulani, Grand Cal, or WDW….

I would go direct on VDH every single time…. A significantly better value, IMO.

And it is not a knock on the resort, I’m staying there tomorrow night! What are the odds of waitlisting the Trader Sam’s mixology class?

Oh, I agree. But there are a lot of people in SoCal who love Disneyland and probably would love to just go there regularly. Plus the area has high salaries. Once it is sold out, I can see it being desirable in spite of restrictions.

There are also a lot of “temporarily inconvenienced millionaires” who live on credit to keep up appearances.
