Even odder given the fact that I passed ROFR in July and closed in August for $130/pp VGF contract.
I bought a VGF contract earlier this summer about the per point value of the one that was taken and frankly have regretted that I didn’t know they were about to bring direct down to $161 with magical beginnings… if I was confident that Disney was going to renew ROFR around 145 for VGF, I would just buy direct now and plan to sell my resale points for slightly less than break even (after broker fee) sometime in the next year. However, I do not expect to see a huge ramp up in ROFR, at least not at VGF.

I think this is the only time we've seen them ROFR an actively selling property aside from maybe 1 Aulani contract I heard was bought back? So I imagine this one contract was the exception. Condolences to whoever's contract that was.

Anyone have any trouble getting responses from https://www.**********.com/? I've made multiple offers when I see something I like, receive the generic "We received.." email and then crickets? Never hear another thing. And yep I check junk mail to make sure.

Edit- nevermind. I didn't realize they were blocked.

I know the feeling. Last summer I bought AKL at $136 after losing a couple lower contracts to ROFR. This spring I bought AKL direct during the fire sale at $143 with MB.

My only silver lining thought about ROFR coming back is that it will boost the value of my resale in case I want to sell it down the road.

This is what everyone should do

Not the actual purchase but the consideration and plan on how you will maximize the benefit of the purchase. Every person will have a different analysis and reason
Thank you! I agree completely! Everyone works with their membership and cost as makes sense for them. Those who generalize VB as a poor choice may have great reasoning why it wouldn’t work for them..while I make it work for me. DVC has something for everyone 👍🏻

Yep I personally wouldn't have bought there for a few reasons including 2042 expiration, dues and home resort priority but you did save that 17k up front and if you invest those savings to help offset some of those dues and rent out the points like you said you will it can help lean things in your favor. Obviously it makes even more sense if you regularly visit VB which I am yet to try out but hopefully soon. Anyways, congrats on the purchase :)

Hi @pangyal forgive me but I just saw I omitted this purchase way back in 2020 (I was just playing with the DisName Lookup Tool @dvcrofer.com when I looked myself up).
