I bought 97 points direct and had them break it up into 47 and 50 point contracts.
I wonder if you could have done 40 and 50? I always thought a 40 might be attractive at VGC since they have suites at 20 points when I like to go ... maybe the 7 would have been awkward for them to hold, but might be worth asking lol.

That feeling of relief when a contract you shouldn't buy and have no good reason to buy but might buy anyways if your will power fails first is gone off of the broker's website!
Not to make this harder for you, but you know you can put in a backup offer - and will almost certainly know if it comes thru in under 10 days lol. Down side to backup is you probably need to offer full price at that point. I like the "offer low" for those maybe ones, like WinterSoldier suggested, then if you get it you feel you got a deal ;)

Well the contract that we weren't gonna buy and we weren't looking for went off to ROFR last Friday for us haha. So sigh of relief when the other contract we weren't gonna buy and we weren't looking for is now gone.

I've been playing this game the last few days where I just YOLO insane lowball offers. It scratches the itch without too much risk, and the last time I did it, it paid off with a loaded OKW(E) for $90.
I totally agree with this. I was offering really low, at least in my estimate, on contracts and got a 80 point Poly for 128, and a 90 point Animal Kingdom for $95 per point. Both with sellers paying half of closing cost. I'll end up selling my smaller point contracts and come out pretty close to what I am paying on these contracts and increased my total points by 30. Plus I will increasing my expiration dates by a few years as well.

Do you have a guide based in CA? I've only ever spoken to mine once or twice and wasn't actually sure if he was even really assigned to me or whatever. But when I was in WDW, I went to a kiosk to get a pin and when they pulled up my info they were like "Ah, Jason is your guide" so I guess he really is "my" guide. I still don't really get what a guide is for.

West coast or east coast guide?
My guide is Ashley and she is Hawaii based.

I signed the e-docs within an hour of her call and the points were loaded immediately on the site.

I had her spread the payments out as far as possibly and am putting them on a Disney Visa @ 0% for 6-months and getting 2% in Disney Reward Dollars that I’ll apply towards dues.

I think the 10 days still applies, so you can ask if you care - it seems people like even numbers at resale, unless they can calculate something for the odd number which appeals to them too. Direct had the points in my account Before I even signed the documents recently, they can move points swiftly when they want ;)

They’ll never be for sale again. lol

Took extra time due to having to sign an amendment partway through but I'm so happy!! :stitch::tigger::sulley:

The_MT---$104-$23242-200-BWV-Oct-400/23, 200/24, 200/25-No MF due on 22&23 pts- sent 1/19, passed 2/27
Congrats!!!

We’re still waiting on ours sent 2/9, but we had to sign an addendum on the 20th. Now I’m watching all of these waived contracts coming through and I’m getting antsy! Lol

I’m happy with my 50 and 47. I’m trying to break them up so each kid can have 150 if we transfer them to them. This gets us to 150 and 147. We’ll probably add on a small VGF in the future to get us there.

Got my first ever DVC contract going into ROFR and was checking out this thread to see other's experiences, so figured I'd share mine too:

aammtt20---$100-$12,793.80-110-AKL-Jun-0/23, 220/24, 110/25, 110/26- sent 02/12/24

Seems we are hearing a lot of delays due to Amendments - do you mind sharing what the Amendment was for?

The broker forewarned me before I signed the initial contract. The deed had just been retitled and was pending DVC transferring the contract to a different membership. So the amendment was to send the new contract number to DVC once it was established. Probably could have just waited for that to happen before sending to ROFR since it restarted the clock all over again.

Do you remember when the amendment was sent?

That resale one you changed your mind on...what was the asking price/accepted offer? It's hard to get an idea of small VGC contract prices where there are just never any out there.
