Our first shot at buying DVC. I've been stalking numerous sites for a while waiting for a loaded contract to come up and got this one while it was still being verified. It originally had 320/160/160 but we had them bank the 2016 points into 2017. Can't wait for the whole process to be completed and to start booking vacations!!

Wasn't expecting that so quick, what a great thing to wake up to! (Overseas buyer). Because seller pays closing it's actually closer to $77 pp.

(I might share that I received a small inheritance, just a bit under the purchase price, with explicit instructions to put it towards a thing - some thing (not just paying down debt or saving, unless there was dire need) that would keep my beautiful grandparents a part of my life in the future. And I hummed and hawed for a long time until I learned about DVC and then found through resale I could actually get a useful number of points with what was left to me (coming from overseas - and other side of the globe overseas - you really need to come for at least a week to make the 24 hour each way journey worth while).

I'm a total Dis Nut - have been my whole life, so was Pretty motivated once I put two and two together! But I also have so many nieces and nephews, also spread around the world - who I want to share my love of Dis with - but again the big overseas trip has always been just beyond everyone's means. Anyway, DH and I just got to tell the first Sis and Bro in law (with two wonderful daughters) about our pending timeshare, and invite them on our first trip - and their reaction alone was worth it all!)

Does anyone know how ROFFR works? Is it a committee that works on contracts several times a week or individual employees that work and pass/take contracts everyday? Are they currently targeting specific resorts?

First, they put all the contracts for the day on a wall. Then they get a monkey drunk. Then, they hand him some darts....

Seriously, don't try to understand their process. All you need to know is that they'll give you an answer in 30 days or less. Their decision to take a contract depends entirely on the information they have available; information that you can't know. If they have someone on the phone who wants to buy the exact resort and use year you just submitted, they'll take it. Their "targets" could change at a moments notice depending on who is in the office.

Lets hope 3rd time is a charm. I know I'm overpaying, but I'm tired of loosing contracts to the mouse. I am consoling myself with the fact that the seller is paying all closing costs/fees.
