I would just say that your offer was $185 and you won't go any higher. $300 for Grand Cal right now is ridiculous, plus the all so obvious bait-and-switch they just pulled.

If it was me, I would counter at $180 but I don't need or want Grand Cal points.

Technically I don't either and it was a spur of a moment decision. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

My husband said ok to the initial offer, but after I made the offer he said we need to talk about what our maximum point total should look like.

All our contracts have been with Fidelity and I've always had good experiences with them. I just had the weirdest thing happen though. I saw a Grand Cal contract with our use year for $185. I decided to go ahead and make a full price offer. Received a phone message that I was the first offer and full price so I would likely have it. Got another message shortly after stating the price was now $300 per point.

I saw that price and when I clicked through for the details showed the increased price. Went from great price to terrible

Or the broker screwed up the listing. I find it hard to believe a bidding war drove up a contract from $185 to $300 a point with one of the bidders not even knowing about it till it hit $300. I further find it hard to believe that one of the bidders so quickly bid it up to $115 pp over asking.

That’s amazing. We got banked 2022 points (unfortunately not doubled , but the standard 150), but also don’t have to pay dues! Glad you heard back! We used DVC resale market. Hopefully we’ll hear back in a couple weeks since we submitted just after the new year!

We’re a December use year at SSR too! Maybe we can all celebrate with beers at the newly refurbished pool one day!

Possibly or there were several offers around the asking making the seller think they could get more.

If it’s a small contract in a rare UY that someone really needs it could go for high 200s. I’m thinking perhaps 280.
