ROFR Thread April to June 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Makai---$115-$20698-160-AUL-Mar-0/24, 160/25, 160/26, 160/27-Subsidized- sent 6/20

I was impatient after getting 10 other subsidized Aulani contracts rejected, and went higher than I wanted to. But with how long they take to close, I didn’t want to wait any longer to get my Hawaii trip planned. I will use these points at Aulani every few years, but also for networking points.

That's not even a bad deal for AUL sub. I definitely got ripped off on my first AUL sub contract when I wasn't as educated a few years ago. I regretted it for awhile but I think I'm past that point after having gone to Aulani 4 times since then and being fortunate enough to book the cheap hotel room category for a week twice now. In the long run, it's a rounding error compared to how much money I've put into DVC. All this to say don't stress too much over it and congrats!

Thank you! That makes me feel better to know, and have that perspective. I am new at this, and went off the past prices shared here to try and find a reasonable starting point to negotiate at. The ones I had offered on are asking so much more pp than others have made deals for (and many were stripped), and they wouldn’t really negotiate much. I had even come close to getting one via negotiation, but then a person came in and offered full price for it so I lost it. That was when I realized I will either have to be really patient, or change my expectations on price. So when this one came up on the app alerts, I snagged it immediately. Tough to see another one out there though that someone is in sale pending for at $99 a point! But I know once I start using DVC, it’s a small issue compared to how much we are saving on these vacations! Hawaii is my favorite place on earth, and so magical. I appreciate what Disney has done to honor the culture of Hawaii with the quality and attention to detail of Aulani.

I must've missed the one at $99 a point and I follow these pretty closely

Higher than you wanted? That’s a fantastic price for subsidized!

I sometimes worry the ROFR thread is bad for people’s mental health!

Lots of threads here can be bad for ones mental health and I haven't even seen anything on the controversial threads 🤣

There's nothing wrong with wanting to get a good deal, or even the best deal. Each person just has to decide what their time is worth, for many ist not worth the back and forth, for others it is. But with a trip looming and a need for the points 100% not worth going back and forth on a good deal to make it great.

I'll be honest the ROFR thread has made me want to lean more towards direct partially just because I wish I had gotten better deals on my resale points and at least I know with direct the price I lock in at is at least somewhat similar to what other people paid 🙃.

To me it isn’t about “right or wrong”, but I just don’t subscribe to letting my emotions get too high or low based on the perceived successes or failures of others.

Yeah I think people in reading this thread compete to get the best prices and sometimes let go of a good deal which mean be a "fair" one in here...
Yep, I learned that the hard way when I lost a deal that was probably good at full asking price, and I tried to negotiate. It’s tough to know with subsidized since there are not many of them out there.

Turns out we are the [DVC-direct marketing] magic!
