I'm a noob here so I will apologize upfront as I get familiar with this site. It's a bit intimidating the amount of knowledge. Anyway, I put an offer on a contract and we are now playing the waiting game. I did some research, but I guess I pulled the trigger quickly. We love WDW and it's getting a bit cramped with four of us in the standard rooms. Any thoughts on the following?

This a nice deal. It really stinks that resale can’t be used at RIV. Because I might consider getting BLT again.

I just bought a BLT and this is one of the biggest downsides. I guess I’ll need to use my VGC points RIV someday - but the point chart is kind of high for me.

That’s great! You’ll have FOMO if you follow this thread closely because folks here are super informed, likely to drive hard bargains, and more likely to post if they get a “unicorn” contract. But you did very very well by any reasonable standard. Enjoy.

This is a decent deal. It doesn't leave you with a lot in the 2024 UY but you could always bank the 34 pts into 2025 if you don't need them between April 1, 2024 (or, technically, whenever you get your points) and March 31, 2025. You would have to bank them by Nov 30, 2024.

Edited to adjust the date sent to ROFR from 5/16 to 5/21 after like 15 emails between Fidelity and DVC Title & Escrow before I finally got confirmation

Passed ROFR!!!! Just heard a minute ago!!! First contract after considering DVC for YEARSSS

I think that is why the refurb will be more important for BLT than any other resort for the resale price.

The room layouts are amazing and the location is great….. just get the theming right and resale prices go from $120pp to $150-$175pp…..

Now you’re pressuring me to buy more BLT resale points. My husband has the same opinion as you.

If you read the first post in this thread, it tells you to put those costs in the first number:
DISname---Price per point-Total cost (Price per point x # of points + Maintenance Fees to be paid at closing + Closing fees)-# of points-Home resort-Use Year-# of points available first year (banked or not),# of points current year, # of points following year, and year after that, followed by Date Sent for ROFR.

Because the dollar amount reflects only the price per point that’s why.
