Well friends, this is where I leave you. We are honestly relieved because of unexpected home expenses that have arisen lately, so the extra cash is going to reduce a lot of stress. We are taking an indefinite break from DVC purchasing. We have those extra VGF points now, and that is good enough for us. I'm not ruling out purchasing again in the future, but it won't be any time soon. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Thanks to my recent promotion bought a 2nd contract to surprise DW for her 50th birthday coming up in July:

Seller pays dues for '18 points used, cost of which I subtracted from the cost already. I am not thrilled about the price that these contracts are going for, I personally would've rather gotten a cheaper contract or more points at another resort, but DW dream is to be able to spend time at F&W staying at an Epcot resort, so we'll be fighting the bookers at 11 months out. UY isn't perfect, but will work fine for traveling in October (it's in the last 4 months but just barely, so anything cancelled before 30 days would be in the 8 month window) and I was fine with no 2017 points as we wouldn't use the points until October 2018.

Your DW and I share the same birthday month and significant milestone this year....maybe my DH will buy me more BLT points ! With my bday on 12 July and our 25th anniversary on 25 July I am liking this thought more and more....

Alrighty gang, I won't be updating the thread again until after Victoria Day (for all of the 1% on this thread who know what that is )...I am off to DW for my dad's first trip/75th birthday trip, with me and kiddo! Hubby gets to be a bachelor for ten days and eat all of the yucky things he wants to that he's not allowed to when I'm there...LOL.

And I know that @ScubaCat won't make any snide comments about me loafing around instead of working, since I know he is also at DW, so he's got nothing to say this time

We will see! ROFR is somewhat a crapshoot! We already have BLT points with the same use year, but if mickey takes it we just go back on the prowl.

We were leaning towards adding at SSR, but then I saw the BLT with the matchin UY and figured why not give it a shot. I won't be too upset if they take it.

Very excited to be back in DVC! We bought our first contract in 1999 and eventually built up to 600 BWV points.
Sold the points in 2007 when it was time to put 3 kids thru college. Now the last of the 3 is finishing up so we're buying back in and will hopefully someday be bringing grand kids with us!
