I am wondering if Disney uses their ROFR more frequently or at higher dollar amounts when presented with a lower point package?

I am interested in getting my feet wet, but with a 50-100 point package to start.

What is your best guess on what to offer for Boardwalk in that point amount, that would pass?

Thanks for any and all help.

We passed at 86 bucks...and were in between 50-100....

Cindi,
Small point packages go so fast that there is usually not too much room for negotiation. In order to get one you usually need to call and speak with someone so you can get one before its posted.

The resale broker that you use should have a good idea if it will pass ROFR and there is a thread going where DISers are keeping track of what is currently passing and what is not.

Again, though, there is no rhyme or reason, so what may pass one time, may not the next.

Good luck and lots of patience in your search for the contract that is right for you....

I would have to agree with previous posts that there isn't much room for negotiations on smaller contracts. They are in high demand and thus they tend to go at a premium.

As for the ROFR, smaller contracts can tend to go thru at lower per point prices because the adjusted price with the closing costs factored in can increase that per point cost by a few dollars. (Note: it's not easy to find these smaller contracts going lower than the average going price unless it's really stripped) Example: I got a 40 pts OKW contract for $74 per point, but with closing costs factored in it was around $82 (this contract had 0 '05 points but all '06 points coming). I'd guess that right now you'd have trouble finding a similar contract much less than $80 per point.

For BWV, you are probably looking around mid-80's. Add a few dollars more if there are current year or banked points. Subtract a few dollars if there are no current points.

There is a ROFR thread or you can check the ROFR database link in my signature line that will show you some recent information on what has or hasn't passed.

Just a small bit of advice, if you find a smaller contract that you really want and it's only a couple of dollars more than what you wanted to pay, just remember that those couple of dollars on a small contract doesn't amount to much in the big picture. Ex: 50 pt contract... trying to get it $2 less is only $100 overall... so would it be worth risking losing the contract?

And when you factor that $100 over the 37 year life of the contract, it REALLY looks pretty insignificant!
