In reading some of the threads here, I see that in many cases Disney is excercising their ROFR in the low $70's. I looked in the window of the Orlando Timeshare Resale store today and all of the Disney properties were being offered for sale in the mid $60's.
What am I missing here? Won't Disney excercise their purchase right on these sales, if they go for the asking price?

I would assume so. That allows them to prop the market up so their prices aren't so far out of line with resale prices and allow them to make a second profit when they sell them again at "retail." The opnly down side for DVC is the carrying costs until they sell them again.

I think the ones in the mid $60's are at VB and HH, which Disney has in stock, and sells at $69 with MB. I suppose resale demand is low due to Disneys lower price at these two and the higher dues, along with not being a WDW resort.

Others in the upper $60's range usually have no points for 2003, and many times the points for 2004 are not intact... not a likely candidate for ROFR, and not a very good deal to anyone that wants to go "Home" anytime soon.

But if you don't mind waiting.......

As I recall the prices were: $63. for Vero, $66. for OKW and $68. for the Boardwalk.
