Question about Disney's ROFR. Is it possible to offer points back to Disney direct as a DVC seller or will they only consider their ROFR when presented with a contract. We are thinking of selling our contract and heard they are taking points back in around $95. Has anyone contacted Disney direct without marketing their points for sale? Thanks! :confused3

My understanding is Disney does not buy back straight from the seller. Probably, your best bet is offer the points real cheap, find a buyer, and get ROFR'ed by Disney. It may not solve your problem, but that sounds like the best solution to me.

The last we heard, Disney was offering $55 or $57 per point.

You'll come out a LOT better offering your contract for sale through a timeshare resale brokerage like The Timeshare Store (wonderful company). A contract could sell quickly. Even paying the 10-12% commission, you come out way ahead of selling it back to Disney for $55-57.

Disney ROFR's some small contracts in the $90's, but they are not going to pay you that direct.

Thanks for the quick responses and confirming our thoughts about using The Timeshare Store. Guess I just didn't understand why Disney would use their ROFR at that high of a dollar price if the offers are right on top of that number. Makes sense if there outright bid is way below.
