Again, JMO but I strongly believe that he took advantage of her. She was drunk and vulnerable. Granted, she chose to drink. Maybe if she hadn't, it wouldn't have happened at all, or the DA would have a stronger case. There are hard lessons being learned by both of them.

Rich, good looking (?) star athlete has consensual sexual relations with a woman who then can CLAIM that it was sexual assault. Then she can sue for MONEY.

Now I don't know what happened but Ben needs to show better judgement of who he parties with 'cause now he has a big target on his back.

and how do you know that the DA had anything in this case? By his own admission, he didn't have the evidence to convince the jurors beyond a reasonable doubt.

The thing is no one is saying whether the girl could have made a false accusation. In UK we have had several nasty "rape" cases where the so called "victim" eventually admitted making up the whole thing either the sex was consentual or in some cases never even happened. Here are some cases

That was a brutal slaughter with plenty of evidence to try him. Two people were killed! There doesn't appear to be enough evidence to try Ben.

He might have done it! But conjecture means nothing in a court of law.

Which is effectively exactly what the DA in Roethlisberger's case would have been doing if he proceeded with the case. In both cases it's clear that the women were in a bathroom and "something" happened. But there's no usable physical evidence for the DA to work with... and at least the DA in the Duke case had a potential victim that wanted the case to go forward. So what's a DA to do when there's no usable physical evidence to try and charge someone with a crime, and their apparent victim doesn't charges pressed and may not cooperate on the witness stand??? Roethlisberger may be guilty as sin (or not), but what are you left with to try and sway a jury?

I just hope he watches his actions from now on. If he KNOWS he's a target he should be more careful about what he does, where and with whom. Nothing is less rational than young stupid people with too much liquor, money and fame. They are both victims and victimizers. The problem is it's difficult to prosecute. This is why they consistently get away with it and most people don't even bother to press charges.

For the record, my opinion is the dude quacks BIG TIME and I think it's just a matter of time until he gets himself into serious trouble (again). But, in this case, the proof was not there.

This is what I don't understand - not saying he's innocent or guilty because I wasn't there and don't know the man.

He is a millionaire 10+ times over, has a very high profile job and while not good looking in the slightest i'm sure he has a great personality. Why in the world would he have to attack someone to have sex? There must be tons of women who throw themselves at him so why in the world would he have to follow some random girl he met an hour before into the bathroom to grab her?

While Ben may have questionable judgement and may be a jerk, these ladies that athletes and celebrities surround themselves with are not exactly nuns either......just sayin'......I think it's a money grab.

I have to agree with you guys. We don't know exactly what happened. And for anyone to not think that a girl could or would lie about something happening, I have 3 words for you - DUKE LACROSSE PLAYERS. She lied, lied, lied and lied some more. Yes, there are so who will cry wolf.

What nobody is talking about and something we know 100% true is that the young girl defrauded the establishment and the state of Georgia, after all she was only 20 (drinking age is 21).

I agree, IF there had been charges brought against Ben, as a woman I sure the heck would have hoped that she was also charged with underaged drinking. And the bar cited for serving a minor. Don't know if either of these have happened or will be happening, as we haven't been following this story. But to have charged him with one thing and let these other two parties off, who were just as guilty of breaking the law, would have been unacceptable.

Again, you are convicting him on hearsay and public opinion. If it was assault, why would the woman start an investigation and then decide not to bother?

The 3rd allegation does make you question him but starting and stopping an investigation makes me question the accuser. So again you have an attack on Roethlisburger that people will always remember and an woman that accused him that will quickly be forgotten.
