Hi i booked to go here for my holiday in november and as we dont drive i made sure with virgin you could get to disney world with transport from here. They told me it was a small charge for disney transport which i thought was fine so went ahead with it. Luckilly i e-mailed the rodeway inn and asked them how much the charge was when they told me it was $14 round trip per person. As there is 3 of us going and we expect to go disney at least 5 times this would have cost a good bit of money. So i rang virgin and changed to the holiday inn international where you get free transport and it was an extra 100 pound but also a better hotel. Anyway just wanted to let people who dont drive and are stayin at this hotel or others with a charge for disney to be carefull they plan for that extra charge. Next year im driving be much easier lol. Sorry if i sound a tight lad but just thought that was over priced and i can stay in a better hotel for less than what that would have cost me.

Depending on who the transfers were with, you may have been better off staying at the Rodeway. The Disney transport from the HII is limited (at best) and we ended up using taxis twice last year (only went to Disney twice as well). The year before, when we stayed at the Quality Inn, we paid $13 each for transport to Disney but it was with Mears and we literally had to just phone them an hour before we wanted to return and they would pick us up so, if we'd had enough, we could easily leave when we were ready.

Also, at $14 each, even with 3 of you and 5 trips that would still be only just over $200 (which equates to about £120) so you're not really that much better off.

Having said that, I have never stayed at the Rodeway so not sure how it compares to the Holiday Inn. It may well be that the HII is much nicer in which case you've probably done yourself a favour in changing. Either way, I hope the transfers work out OK for you and you have a great trip :)

I agree with the last post. We stayed at the Rodeway in 2000 and whilst it's not the most glamourous hotel you only sleep there! We used the Mears transfers andwe can highly recommend them, even at $14 round trip as they are super reliable and comfy. They will put you in a cab if there isn't a bus going your way! We used them last year also even though the Hotel had free transport as it was a free for all and only two collection times there and back! They also made people stand on the couch as there were too many wanting to go to Disney. You can always be guaranteed a seat and you are accounted for as you are paying whereas with the free one they go when the bus is full etc. Not as safe for you!

We stayed in the holidayinn in 2004 and thought the transport for the virgin customers was really good it was the only place they pick up from so always had a seat also the times were good for what we wanted. As we are going in november not excpecting it to be that busy hopefully. Thanks for your replys and comments + i like the holiday inn for the poolside bar lol

the i drive inn on international drive gives a free shuttle to all the disney parks
ive used it many times and its allways been reliable and offer many different times to get to and from the parks. plus you get a free brekky everyday and you can walk to universal in 15 minutes :goodvibes :goodvibes
