We headed over there right after the fireworks. DH had the stroller with nearly asleep 6 year old and I held our 9 year olds hand. We did the plaza view. Awesome!!! Headed over to Mine train. Posted wait was 55. So my older son and I took a spin on the Carousel first. Wait was 45 or 55. It was between 9:30 and 9:40. 9 year old and I jumped in line while DH sat with sleeping kid. The line moved so fast we were able to hop back on the line again just as they were about to close it off! We were off the ride by 10:20. And even better, got to ride in 1st row both times!!!!

I'm glad that you were able to get in a couple of quick rerides. The posted wait times are intentionally exaggerated late at night to discourage riders, so most guests that hop in line are pleasantly surprised by the short waits.

This has been the case at 7D since it was new. The longest we've ever waited in line has been 20 minutes, and that was during opening week in 2014. I think the posted wait was 80 minutes that time.

We're fortunate that we have 2 easy going kids. We were there for 8:20 CP breakfast and we made it all day without taking a hotel break.

I hopped in line for 7DMT about 5 minutes before park close one time with the wait time posted as 90 minutes. I think we waited about 7 minutes. It was a Saturday night so the cast members probably had some after-work plans so they were really trying to discourage guests from entering the line.

I've noticed wait times never get updated that late at night. Things will show a 25 minute wait, when it's obviously walk-on. Definitely want to encourage people just to go home!

Actually, they want to encourage people to go to the gift shops one more time before going home. They have found that guest are more likely to shop and spend before closing time than after close even though many shops are open for an hour or more after the park closes.

Yeah, good point! And definitely true! I guess by "go home" I meant-avoid attractions that cost Disney $ to operate and instead give Disney more $! (This coming from someone who still spends plenty of money at Disney parks and doesn't regred for a second!)
