***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

Not to keep beating a dead horse but since Lukas had more votes, the bigger opportunity would have been lost if they had chosen Toby (or any of the others) over Lukas.

He got more votes because of volume fan voting. Will the fan who sat up half the night voting time after time for Lukas also buy ticket after ticket after ticket to see SuperNova, aka Suave Porn, in concert? :confused3

(And really, that point goes to all of the rockers whose fans launched massive voting tactics, not just Lukas'.)

Why would Lukas get more power voting than anyone else? Lukas wasn't my favourite (I much, much preferred Magni to any of them - Toby really annoyed me) but to say that the reason he got more votes was because of power voting is assuming that no one had power voting. From this board, it sounds like people were more passionate about other contestants and would have power voted for them just to get Lukas out.

But seriously, people may still get some good stuff to watch. Tommys' drum solos are awesome. :teeth:

Yeah, but he doesn't hold a candle to the great and mighty Neil Peart! Man, I adore him. Then again, if we are being honest, I love Geddy and Alex too. :)

I totally agree more than I ever have before. :thumbsup2

But Neil never had a drum kit that spun upside down. :p

But not to worry - as I've said before SN is a "Take the money and run" rock band.
Do you think they'll even print the word "sucker" on the tickets?

New name Idea - FauxNova

Totally agree.

I LOVED the first season of Rockstar, would not even let anyone speak to me while it was on. :lmao: I am a HUGE INXS fan, and I was very into who could help that band continue (and though my favorite, Marty, was not chosen, I did agree they chose the best for the band). I had an awful time getting into this season though. I really did not care who one. :confused3 I also don't think the talent was as good as the first season's was. I just can't get any excitement worked up for this band.

I think you have brought up a very good point. Last year , you had a band that everyone knew and would have a very large following already. This year, you had a new band that no one knew anything about with members that many people wouldn't recognize, except TLee, unless they were serious fans of the GnR and Metallica

I think the fact that it was pretty much a given this band isn't going to last beyond one tour affected ratings and people's attitudes quite a bit. Like Aidensmom said, people really wanted INXS to continue. ( I agree about Marty btw ;) ).

These 3 guys are all ready attached to other bands and other projects so I'm really not interested in investing myself in a band that's just going to be a one cd/one tour wonder. I did enjoy watching the performances and will continue to watch upcoming seasons, if for no other reason than I was introduced to singers that normally I wouldn't get a chance to listen to because local radio stations only play the same 10 songs over and over again.

I also think the crappy music selection made this season worse than the first season. I don't know if Mark Burnett didn't want to cough up $$ for the song rights to as many songs or what, but the selections were horrible and boring and that made the contestants seem less talented because of the same old tired music.

Well, that may be true, but I do believe that at one of the Rush Concerts that I have attended he had one that rose up away from the stage.

Besides, he is Neil Peart. He doesn't need an upside down drumkit to look impressive. He just holds up a copy of YYZ with the Drum Solo and says, "Top that, TommyBoy!" Hehehehe.

I've never seen a riser for his drum kit. His current one does spin though. It's basically two kits and it spins so he facing forward when playing either side.

If you haven't seen it yet, rent or buy the R30 DVD set. The drum solo on that set blows everything else away.

Oddly enough, I just bought the DVD two nights ago. I haven't had time to watch it though.

I might be thinking of the spinning drums. I knew that something happened. :)

I just came back from a concert with Magni and Dilana here in Reykjavik. It was a family event (kids allowed), so I took my 3 oldest (12,10 and 4). They loved it and so did I. Dilana has such an awesome presence and Magni is an unbelievable singer. Can´t remember all the songs they did but do remember the following:

Ring of fire
Mother, mother
Roxanne
Dolphins cry
Creep
Both their originals

Fuel needs to do the next show as they are still looking for a lead singer.
