My dd will be 9 in April. Has been on splash, space, thunder, test t, & primeval whirl. She gets a bit nervous before going on them, and usually doesn't want to go back on them again, except for big thunder mountain, she will ride that as often as she can. We are going tomorrow, and she thinks she might want to try rocknrollercoaster. Do you think she should? Thanks for your help!

Absolutely! If she's willing to try it, I say Go for it! It's fairly intense, much faster (and much louder) than the other coasters at Disney, but really a terrific ride. She'll be able to watch the take-off as you're waiting in line, and if she needs it, there's an exit just before you board the limo's.

Good luck! Great ride, even if you only do it once. :)

My dd was 10 last year and went on it for the first time. She loved it and can't wait to go back on.

If your in doubt, ride it before your dd to check it out and then use your judgement. My 8 ds rode it last October, he was somewhat scared but I think I might have been more so. It is pretty intense, it took me half the ride to catch my breath. My ds is not interested in riding it again and he really enjoyed Splash, Space, and Thunder mountains.

My 8 year old DD rode it in November and loved it. She also is a Six Flags junkie and will ride any coaster she is tall enough for....this summer is was the American Eagle backwards 10 times in a row.

The inversions are so quick that you hardly even notice them.

My son was just short of his 7th birthday and rode it, (yes, we have very tall kids!) He didn't like roller coasters, but wanted to try it. Now, thats all he wants to do (he can't wait for Hulk now)! Our daughter is now 6 and can't wait to try in March (she's already tall enough).

I've always let my kids decide. If they are tall enough, it their choice to ride or not.

I would let her know it is in the dark (but with florescent lighting), Aerosmith music blaring right in your ear and you do go upside down (at least two times?). It is a terrific ride but it does not seem to last long enough. My 11 year old son loves it. Now if I could only get the courage to ride Tower of Terror.

As I got off one time I heard someone ask "Did we go upside down?";)
Now if I could only get the courage to ride Tower of Terror.
My wife finally rode ToT with me. [Our daughter was off with her friend.] She indicated that she might ride again. And she woudn't even think about riding RocknRollerCosaster, Space Mountain, or Splash Mountain [after that one time I talked her into it ... so she wouldn't miss out on all the Uncle Remus scenery].<p>Someone small should be told to keep his/her head against the back of the seat. Of course, that's *NO* problem at the beginning! When you're in line, watch when the train [limo] leaves relative to the graphics on the screen in front of you. Then when it's your turn, take a good deep breath just before the car streaks off. That helps with that initial acceleration. After that it's downhill [and uphill ... and back downhill, and around]. It's not bad on the stomach at all! Just sit back and enjoy it.

DS loved it at 8. If she handeled Space mountain well she should be fine. It is so very much smoother and I like it better. If she does not like it, she does not have to go again. I always encouraged DS to try it once. By that age he would do it all but AE and that was because I did not encourage it.

My DD loves Space Mountain. In fact she rides it until I get sick. We tried to to her on Rock -n- Roll this time but was denied b/c she was too short. Now we ride this everytime we go (DH & I do w/ a pass off). I guess the details slip your mind b/c when I got off, I was glad...it is pretty intense, not scary, just very fast and it really pushes you back in the seat and if she if on the small side I could see how she could get hurt. I really would recommend you ride it first and then use your judgement. I'm glad it worked out the way it did (she is only 6, 8 may be okay).

My 5 year old daughter and 6 year old son rode it last October and loved it! I, however, will not ride it!

Our 6 year old dd rode it last January. I was terrified!! She LOVED it; major thumbs up. Read an exerpt from our trip report...

"This was Jana’s first time. She was nervous and so was I. I had convinced her she was brave enough, but I worried she would forget to put her head back and/or hate it! Before we could really think about it–we were in! I kept saying to her “Put your head back! Put your head back!” Of course, once the ride takes off–there is no conversation!! I forgot how scary those first few seconds are!! The G-forces and that first loop are unbelievable! Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!! But, great of course and when we got back in Jana’s thumbs up and huge grin told the story–she loved it!! thumbs up when we returned."

Have fun!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

If she's up to it, go for it. It is a very intense ride however.
