So, i am not a big fan of coasters, but my girlfriend is, so i ask this question - are there any intense drops? The speed and spirals i think i can handle, its the slow creep up a huge incline to a crazy drop that freaks me out - are there any? Any input is welcome!

Surprisingly, there are no real drops in the ride. It's all inside (although you probably know that already). You climb no hills with that nasty clack-clacking of the lift hill. Honestly, I think it's a fairly tame coaster, but the addition of the Aerosmith beats in your ear and the speed of the launch make it seem a lot 'edgier' or 'scarier' than it really is.

Plus, a lot of it is in the dark (although you can see the track in front of you). It's by no means a rough coaster.

I agree with RyMickey- I really like the G's of the launch, then I enjoy the music of America's Greatest Rock N'Roll Band! The scenery is interesting, the drops and spirals are kinda tame. NO INTENSE DROPS!

Very enjoyable experience!

No bad drops...you can do it! :)

The Aerosmith music blaring in your ear makes it all worth it!! I wish they made more coaster with soundtracks.Makes for an AWESOME ride!!:smooth:

thanks for the quick replies - i too think i can handle it. i do know a lot about the coaster, i've been to MGM since it's been operational, just didn't have that push to try it, i will give it a whirl. How long is the ride, anyone know?

I just checked my unofficial 2002 guide to WDW and it says the ride is 1 1/4 min. long. My DS cannot take the drops of roller coasters and was assured by friends of ours that there were no huge drops and he could do it. He was determined to try, and when we went, we were in the car belted in and he wanted to chicken out, but of course it was too late. I was surprised by what a smooth ride it was, and it was over quickly. When we slowed for the end DS asked "when are we going 0 - 60?", and when I told him you already did it, the ride is over, he couldn't wait to go on it again.

I also dislike big drops and avoid those coasters at all costs!!!!!
My DS really likes RnR so I go on a couple of times each trip for him. I don't care much for the takeoff, but after that it's really a neat ride inside. NO big drops at all.......you will enjoy it.

The RnR gives a fairly smooth ride for a roller coaster. I say go for it--I think you will enjoy it, or at least be able to tolerate it for your girlfriend. Besides, there are none of those slow climbs up that you are dreading from other coasters.

Hey Twigs, thanks for reading the Guide.

loonertic, RnRC is a great coaster. The initial launch alone is reason enough to try it. Oh, and watch Steven Tyler throughout the pre-show film. Some of the stuff he does is really funny.

Sincerely,

Len

There is not one SLOW thing about this ride....NOTHING creeps up on you...ROFLMAO! This is the BEST ride we went on, mind you we didn't go on Mission Space! My 8 YO DD gives this 10 thumbs up and loved it better than ToT

I am terrified of rollercoasters but for some reason i let my friends convince me to go on the rockin' rollercoaster. And I am very glad they did. (of course that was only after I got off the ride) It was really quick - time wise. The scariest part is when you first leave the platform. There is a countdown clock and then you FLY. Thats when they take the picture of you. There are a few loops but since its mostly in the dark you can't really tell.
I've gone on it once more and screamed the whole time - but its a lot of fun.
If I can do it I'm sure you can!!

i went on it around 4 times last year..it starts off from 0-60 in like two seconds *that is actually where they take the picture* and there arent drops..if there are then i couldnt really tell.

Yeah!! Good for you! Every trip, we try something new. This was our something new last week. I AM NOT a roller coaster fan at all. I DO NOT like to go upside down. With all that said, I wanted to go again after we were finished. It is THE smoothest roller coaster I have ever been on. Even going upside down was so smooth, if I didn't know we were going upside down, I would have never guessed.

Music??? There was music??? I guess I was holding on too tight to notice! I'll have to go again and check it out!
