Rockin' Roller Coaster..... please help me!!!

I don't think this ride is very jerky. It's a smooth roller coaster with a great theme. I find BTMR way more jerky and harder on your back and neck.

Keeping your head back at the start is very important!

The worst Disney coaster in my opinion for neck and back suffers is the Matterhorn Bobsleds at DL.

definitely sit in the FRONT! the back can jerk you around a lot and the launch feels rougher from there, so ask to sit in the front when you're seated. other than that, i'll second what everyone else has said: face forward and keep your head back against the headrest. the ride itself is less than three minutes, so you'll be off in no time if you don't like it very much.

have fun on your trip! :hippie:

This 100%. I rode it twice in a row. The first time in the front and didn't notice my head bouncing AT ALL. Next, I rode in the back and my head bounced around like a ping pong ball the entire time no matter how much I kept my head back. :rotfl2:

I am another person that hates roller coasters but I LOVE this ride! I rode in the front and found the ride very smooth, plus you could also faintly see the track in front of you. Personally I do not like drops on rides (never again, Tower of Terror!), but could do inverted roller coasters all day.

My understanding is it makes a difference whether you're seated in the front or back seat of each individual car on the jerkiness. If I remember correctly, the back seat is smoother than the front (but someone feel free to correct me - it's been far too long since I rode RnR!). Also, if your kids are old enough - the chicken exit is at the boarding platform, so you could get the kids on, then walk through to meet them as they arrive at the backstage concert entrance.

Thanks for the imput guys! I think I'll suck it up, and ride it for my girls!! :)

Sit in the front. Ask to wait for the front when they ask you how many is in your party. It is MUCH less jerky and headache inducing in the front.

As far as I can tell, the fast launch goes straight into corkscrews. I didn't know this, and hated despise and loathed the launch, and therefore the whole ride. They take the picture at the beginning, too. DS didn't like it much either, at the beginning, and the picture of us has me terrified and him looking like he's experiencing the worst thing ever.

I kept that feeling the whole time and haven't ridden it since.

My son, however, who was either 6.5 or 7 at the time he first rode it, LOVED LOVED LOVED it, and he and DH go on it as much as possible.

Keep your head back. Try to smile.

Totally agree. The launch mechanism is under ~row 5. The 1st row feels the take off the most. I recommend rows 3-5 to those who don't want as jerky of a ride as in rows 11 & 12. This way you can still see what's coming by watching the car in front of you and your body naturally compensates to some degree.

I think it's a smooth ride, sure you get lightly tossed around but that's true for any rollercoaster really. Comes with the territory.

Otherwise, a couple of up-side-down moments but since it's in the dark it's not really as noticeable. We have a non-roller coaster person in our party but this is the one coaster he will come on.

I think if you're going to ride one coaster, this is the one to ride.

I ride this all the time with my kids. My solution is to slam my eyes shut, open my mouth reeeeeeeeeeeeeeal wide, and scream my brains out until the ride is over. IMHO it's a successful strategy.:rotfl2:

Extremely smooth coaster for a steel inverting coaster. It's no mine train.

It's really smooth. One of the smoothest coasters I've ever been on. It's not jerky or violent at all. And you go upside down about 3 times
