Rockin Roller Coaster Jonas Brothers???

I think Guns n' Roses would be awesome, but wont ever happen since the originals arent even there anymore..

But some other good ones would be Motley Crue, Poison, KISS, Def Leppard... real rock n' roll bands like that, not freakin' Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana!!! Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt AC/DC originally approached to do RnRC but wanted too much money?

I'm a huge GnR fan....but let's face it: They were not (and the newest Axl led incarnation IS not) the most "Politically Correct" band on the face of the planet. Granted, neither was Aerosmith, but they cleaned up their act later in their existence.

Not so with GnR. Not really. And while I appreciate Disney's willingness to be somewhat edgy, I think that would push Disney's envelope so far it would likely send much of their executive leadership into apoplectic shock.

I simply can't imagine riding RnRC to "Rocket Queen" or "Pretty Tied Up". :)

This :thumbsup2 Leave it be, but if the need to change it arises, stick with a well established platinum selling, preferably multi-generational band.

I love the Cannibal Corpse comment, but for Disney's sake, we'll go a tad softer.

Dream Theater anyone?

If you're going to go with Dream Theater....you should probably just go straight to RUSH.

Though I don't think anyone wants to see Geddy Lee in the intro. :)

I don't disagree with you, but....

If they didn't really update SM with a long closure for an update, then i doubt they would drop the coin to change RnR other than the sign and the band behind the glass in teh que.

Well the thing is, I love the coaster and would want it to say, but only with Aerosmith. The idea of Disney doing any kind of cheap re-tooling of a ride depresses me....something about the integrity of the magic. Now, I guess if they kept the track as-is and re-themed the entire outside of the building, que, completely disimilar video, and theming inside near the loading zone, I'd take that as a compromise as it shows some effort on Disney's part and would still cost them millions.

See, now I heard it was U2. So that's three different bands related to that rumor that "they wanted somebody else but it would cost too much." rumor.

Well, according to someone who was actually at the early development meetings, once it became obvious that The Stones were "too expensive", employees actually brought CD's in from their cars and started going through the possibilities. U2 was one that was brought up, but they also proved to be asking too much money.

L.O.L. The Jonas Brothers. :rotfl:

That's like saying "Oh, I'm sorry you couldn't get tickets to go see The Doors. Here. Take these Peter Frampton tickets instead....."

Just really...no.

It really wouldn't feel right without Aerosmith. I hope they keep it as-is.

Okay then, so no rock and rollers with a mind....check

LOL reminds me of a joke. I'll remove the profanity...

U2 is playing a concert in London when Bono stops singing and slowly starts clapping his hands over his head. Soon the crowd starts clapping with him. Clap.......Clap.......Clap

Bono then speaks and everyone is silent, "Every time I clap my hand a child in Africa dies!"

Suddenly from the front row somone yells, "Then stop bloody clapping!!!!"

WAHH...I'm supposed to be at a U2 concert right now, but since Bono had back surgery it got postponed. I'm having my own roller coaster ride of emotions today. I need my U2 as much as I need my Disney

no, just no rock n rollers filled with whats in their mind.

why can't rockers keep it simple: sex, drugs and rocknroll. Is that to hard to ask of our musical entertainers?

i really loathe any entertainers getting political, left or right.

It's all good to me whether it's rockers with opinions or DISers. They are equally entertaining and at times goofy. :rotfl:

I like U2 and couldn't care less if they're political or not. As long as they don't bring it here with it not being allowed and all. ;)

I'm with Birdman, Def Leppard. They along with Boston are my favorites of all time.

"Def Leppard Rock of Ages Roller Coaster"

I can just see it now...sitting in the car waiting and..."Gunter, glieben, glauchen, globen" and then whammo, blast off.

The cars could be a replica corvette and the end they could crash and arms go flying.

For me, I like entertainers to entertain. I don't buy concert tix to hear their political views. I'm all for them sending shout outs to the troops, but i absolutely detest them using their public forum in entertaining as a pedestal for their political agendas.

Besides, why would they want to. So many entertainers put their foot in their mouths when the engage in politics. They should stick to what they know best.

i know they are people too and entitled to their opinions, just don't do it in teh entertainment arena.

Why does it have to be just one band? :confused3
The Classic Rock'n'RollerCoaster would solve all the issues. :rockband:
The theme could be going to a fantasy, classic rock band concert, that could never happen. The pre-show takes you back in time so you can see the legends, both dead and alive, perform. The soundtrack would be a mix of classic rock music. There are a zillion songs that would be great, but I would love to have a "Born To Be Wild/Magic Carpet Ride" medley for the launch!

Eljay-:thumbsup2 I like the way you think, are you an Imaginear???

Thanks, jpmanden. :wave2:
Not officially, just in my own mind. :smooth:

Don't you think, though? Because of all of the potential "what-ifs" when you affiliate with a single band, I think my idea would be the permanant solution, without a costly refurb. ::yes::

Or Get in the Ring or Used to Love Her or Mr. Brownstone or My Michelle or Anything Goes or .....

I'm pretty sure we'll never see GnR in anything Disney related. :)

U2 is one of my favorite bands, but they would be a horrible choice for RnRC. Rock music makes that coaster what it is and U2 is NOT a rock band.
I'm also a huge Chili Peppers fan, but they just don't have the widespread appeal to make it work. Same with Metallica.

Def Lepard, Motley Crue, Kiss, Poison, Dream Theater, Rush: None of them are liked by a large enough percent of the visitors needed for a Disney ride.

There are really only a few groups that I think would appeal to enough people and have the right sound for a fast paced, high energy roller coaster:
Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC.

I actually love the idea of a mix of classic rock. Probably no chance of this, but I think it would be awesome to have songs by a lot of different bands. And you could have an awesome pre-show with Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Ozzy, David Lee Roth, Tommy Lee, Gene Simmons, Joan Jett, or any number of the greatest rock stars.

Besides perhaps being pricey...isn't there already a coaster with "different" musical tracks in Orlando? Sorta sounds like a version of Rip, Ride, Rockit at Universal.

You know Disney would get ripped for "copying" Universal....

Ozzy or AC/DC would be cool, retheming to the Jonas Bros. would make it the shortest wait in all of DHS, despite the fact RnR is a thrill ride.
