Rockin Roller Coaster Jonas Brothers???

What's funny is that the whole theme of the ride is to rush through LA to get to the bands concert - if it was the Jonas Brothers, I'd want to be going to opposite way!

Aerosmith is, and always will be the perfect choice (although I'm a big fan, so I am biased - I'll admit it) but as already said, they have hits that are multi-generational - EVERYBODY knows a few Aerosmith songs - even most kids.

If they ever did change it to something ridiculous that only appealed to pre-teens - I'd bypass the ride completely - without the band as the theme, it's nothing more than a standard roller coaster track. It's the theming that makes it amazing.

^ Now, now.... That's not very ni.... Aw heck, that's pretty darned funny ! :lmao:

Oh please nooooooo! It is called Rock n' Roller Coaster for a reason.. it isn't the Bop n' Tweeny Coaster..

While the Jonas Brothers have had a good fan base of girls from elementary to high school, they seem to be losing some of their steam. My DD was an obsessed fan, but is now boycotting them. After a huge hoopla over their new World Tour and pushing special presales, they have changed many of their tour dates and have dropped many concerts here in the states. This is after tix were sold and fans were pumped. Ther eare many disgruntled fans (and their parents, who pay for these tix and cd's) Disney may need to rein in the boys or part ways. Theming a ride that is for thrill riders to a boy band who would prefer to cancel already sold concert dates in order to do concerts in a more lucrative market out of the country is not a way to keep fans. While Disney channel is almost always on at our house, it is not on for Jonas LA and Camp Rock 2 does not now hold the appeal it would have. Disney should put this rumor to rest.

I've heard that when a lot of dates are cancelled that it's usually due to poor sales and the promoters are often at least somewhat involved in those decisions. It's probably not just the band.

If Aerosmith's contract was to expire, why does the coast have to remain RnR? Rather than trying to sign with some multi-generational band, wouldn't it make more sense to remove the "rock" facade and overlay the coaster with some theme that they own? For example, when is Disney going to do something with the Marvel Superheroes? Or, maybe it could be themed as the infamous door scene from Monsters Inc?

I would bet that, given the chance, Disney wouldn't take the risk of signing with either a has-been band or a fly-by-night current pop sensation.

I wouldn't mind any band really (within reason) but I would hope that with a change of band, the actual attraction would change to a new roller coaster...if the ride stayed the same and they just used another band in the que video, etc, I'd be sick about it.

I don't disagree with you, but....

If they didn't really update SM with a long closure for an update, then i doubt they would drop the coin to change RnR other than the sign and the band behind the glass in teh que.

Metallica, Ozzy, or AC/DC are about the only hard rock bands that have the staying power, popularity, and are still around to get a contract.

I don't like U2 and while I can see people thinking they would be a good choice they are too political.

Why does it have to be just one band? :confused3
The Classic Rock'n'RollerCoaster would solve all the issues. :rockband:
The theme could be going to a fantasy, classic rock band concert, that could never happen. The pre-show takes you back in time so you can see the legends, both dead and alive, perform. The soundtrack would be a mix of classic rock music. There are a zillion songs that would be great, but I would love to have a "Born To Be Wild/Magic Carpet Ride" medley for the launch!

How about a supergroup made in heaven. Bon Scott on vocals, Jimi Hendrix on guitar, John Bonham on drums, Cliff Burton on Bass.

I think it was actually the Rolling Stones who wanted too much money so Disney settled for Aerosmith.

See, now I heard it was U2. So that's three different bands related to that rumor that "they wanted somebody else but it would cost too much." rumor.

it's a perpetual rumor, usually reported on april 1

Which brings up the questions, why hasn't this one been moved to the rumor board yet?

They need a sticky over there with the many re-theming projects of RnR:
Hannah Montana
High School Musical
Jonas Brothers
Camp Rock
hmm wonder why an Imagination Movers theme hasn't been discussed yet?
