Rocket Rods / People Mover Track

I have just watched a video of Rocket Rods.... it seemed awfully long. My question is, was the People Mover track entended for the introduction of Rocket Rods, or was the People Mover a long ride?

I've never been on the People Mover on Disneyland, but I know the one in DisneyWorld is pretty long.

The track remained the same - they basically widened some areas to accommodate the rocket rods.

The ironic thing is that although it may have seemed like a long ride the Rocket Rods were fast and the ride was quick (esp considering how long the line always was). The People Mover moved much more slowly and you could enjoy the ride cruising above Tomorrowland.
Oh I do miss the People Mover - one of my favorite things to do when we visit WDW.

I miss the people mover too, it was a favorite! I also miss the sky buckets, what a great shortcut that was!
