Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

Great pics! :)

Thanks!

I think they hand out the red cards so that they can also measure the FP line wait time as well. They do list the wait time for the FP lines so I guess they use the same system for collecting the data.

Nice pictures from TT. It's my family's favourite ride at Epcot.

I never noticed that they listed FP line wait times so that makes sense now. I still like Soarin' best but Jim is definitely a fan of Test Track!

I still haven't been on the new Test Track! Shame! I'm glad it was Jim's favorite! Sometimes it's nice when people don't have the old version to compare.

I only rode the old version once. The ride itself really didn't change, they just changed the color scheme of the inside part. It kind of looks like Tron now. The line is the biggest change, it's very closed in now which I didn't care for. When I was there last March, it got very hot in the line. I didn't notice that during this trip so maybe they fixed that problem.

I still haven't been on the new TT either .:faint:..can we even say it's NEW anymore ? See now your cars, and being married that long, is just too funny I'm anxious to see what Fred & I will design being together twice as long as the two of you...horse and buggy anyone ? :rolleyes2

Except for the fireworks border I think your pictures came out much nicer than the ones taken that were emailed to you

I really didn't care too much about the design part as you can probably tell since I still had over 2 minutes left when I was done. So I guess I can say that Jim copied from me since he was still working on his. :rotfl:

Yeah, I agree that those e-mailed pictures were not the best. Of course, they are free so what can you expect?

We still had some time till our second FP+ at 10:05 am so since we were right there, I decided we should go check out the Food and Wine festival center. I was still on the hunt for the Pluto Food and Wine shirt I had seen online. It is really weird being in that building now as I have memories of when it used to be the Wonders of Life Pavilion.

Jim immediately spotted some Ratatouille merchandise and went to check it out.

We walked around a bit and I took some pictures as we walked.

While I once again had no luck with the Pluto shirt, Jim did find two cute Donald magnets that he bought.

We headed back out and over towards the Land Pavilion because Soarin’ was our next FP+. But as we walked by the Character Spot I noticed that the wait time was only 10 minutes so we quickly changed directions and headed in there. They have some very cute TV screens that play cartoons while you wait.

I tried to get a picture of the meet and greet area when you first enter but it turned out really bad. I’m so glad I had it though because the Photo Pass pictures were not on my disc. I was able to use the time stamp on my photo to give Disney the exact time we were in line.

Mickey was first. I kept my bag with me because it was a Halloween one with Dracula Mickey on it. Mickey made a big fuss over the bag which was fun.

Goofy was next and he was, well goofy! He notice our anniversary pins and had Jim hold up one finger and me five to represent the 15 years. Only one problem, see if you can spot it in the pictures.

Yep, he had us backwards so it read 51 instead of 15! The he had us each put one foot up for the next picture. Problem is I put up my right foot which left me standing on my bad ankle. I have very little balance on that foot and I’m surprised I didn’t fall over!

Minnie was last, I don’t remember anything special about the greet so it was probably just hugs and on our way.

We were in and out pretty quickly and continued our original trek to the Land

My first question is how are you keeping the two trips separated so well!!! your doing a great job!!!

Love the M&G. looks like Jim is having a lot of fun.. your still going to tell me he isn't a fan of Disney?!?!

:rotfl2: Goofy being goofy...see I read it as 6 year anniversary...so you get to do a do over of the last 9 how does that sound ? :rolleyes1 :flower3:

Looks like a decent morning in Epcot so far!!

Man, I haven't been on TT in freaking ages, and that's totally okay lol. I'm just not a huge fan of it since it's been re done, but glad you guys liked it!

I have yet to be there during f&w, so I have never been in that building lol!

Characters are always a great distraction! Love that Goofy was well…goofy lol! Cute pics!

Cute character pics!! :goodvibes Can't pass up a 10 minute wait!

Yep, we definitely couldn't pass that up! I'm glad they added a second room so the line goes much faster now but I wish they would have kept all five characters.

My first question is how are you keeping the two trips separated so well!!! your doing a great job!!!

Trip Journal! I would be lost without the notes I took during the trips.

Love the M&G. looks like Jim is having a lot of fun.. your still going to tell me he isn't a fan of Disney?!?!

He still says he isn't but I don't think I've mentioned it yet on here. Are you sitting down? He's coming with me for the short trip in May! I think it's only because he wants to go to the Lego store again but whatever, I'll take it.

:rotfl2: Goofy being goofy...see I read it as 6 year anniversary...so you get to do a do over of the last 9 how does that sound ? :rolleyes1 :flower3:

He was goofy! I didn't think about it being only 6.

Looks like a decent morning in Epcot so far!!

It did start out pretty good but we had a little bad luck coming up.

Man, I haven't been on TT in freaking ages, and that's totally okay lol. I'm just not a huge fan of it since it's been re done, but glad you guys liked it!

I definitely preferred the previous version myself but I still like it. Jim never rode the old one so he had nothing to compare it to.

I have yet to be there during f&w, so I have never been in that building lol!

Well, it's usually open for Flower and Garden so you'll have to check it out in May.

Characters are always a great distraction! Love that Goofy was well…goofy lol! Cute pics!

It was a nice distraction for the morning. I love meeting Goofy, we almost always have great interactions with him.

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!! He is going back!!!! :cool1:

I call shenanigans on him and l not liking Disney!!!

I think it was around 10:30 am when we left the Character Spot and headed towards the Land. Sitting outside the door was this sign:

Old news now that they were running out of paper FPs so early in the morning. I guess they got tired of turning people away and put out the sign. We of course had a FP+ so we proceeded on into the building and got in line.

As you can see by the one picture, we were in row 3. I didn’t bother asking for row 1 because I knew the heights might bother Jim. I love this ride so much but Jim on the other hand hated it. He said the heights during the film scared him.

We headed over to Living With the Land but the wait time was 40 minutes and it looked like it would be that long as the line stretched all the way back to the entrance to Soarin’.

It was time for our third FP+ for Spaceship Earth so we left the Land and walked back towards the front of Epcot. We got there only to find out that SE was down. I wasn’t too worried as I figured we could catch it on the way out of the park after lunch. The line always seems to be non-existent in the afternoon.

We ended up turning around and going right back towards the Land building we had just left. I saw the Chipmunks out but their line looked really long so we skipped that and headed towards the Imagination pavilion. Jim decided he was getting hungry and lunch was still about an hour and ½ away so we stopped and got him some potato chips. He can get grumpy when he is hungry and I certainly didn’t want that to happen.

And yes, I did keep the empty bag because it has Pluto on it!

We continued on towards Figment.

Only to discover that it was down too! Strike two on rides for this day.

I had been planning to take Jim to see Captain EO since he loves cheesy 80s stuff so we headed that way.

As you can see, we mostly had the place to ourselves.

As soon as we entered the pre-show area, Jim got really excited because of the 80s synthesized drum music they play.

All I can say is that he thoroughly enjoyed both the pre-show and the actual movie. With all of the 80s hair, clothes, dancing and music, he was in heaven! He’s said many times that he would time travel back to the 80s if he could. Me, well, I still found it pretty cheesy and strange.

When we got done with Captain EO, I saw that Figment was back open. The wait time said 25 minutes and the line was out the door. But I knew it moved pretty fast and we had some time to kill before lunch so we got in line. It did allow me some time to actually check out the details as we waited.

We really only waited about 10 minutes before we boarded. I made sure Jim knew that there was no dancing on the ride.

And then we were off to explore our Imaginations.

Sorry that Jim didn't like Soarin :( At least he enjoyed Captain EO! I've actually never even seen it haha Glad you were able to get on Figment despite it being closed earlier, and that the wait was shorter than posted!

Aww. Shame about Figment and SE and Soarin'. Glad you got Captain EO in.

Wow! there are a lot of people who really don't like soarin!!! glad he got his sea legs back and was ready for more!
I am NOT a fan of Michael Jackson. i will skip Capt. Eo. wonder if they will ever change it?

Great shot of the water fountain!

I'm one of the weirdos who can handle Soarin' even though I absolutely hate heights. Such a shame that Jim didn't enjoy it!

Captain EO... I'm so intrigued by that. Everyone says it's like the weirdest thing ever but a lot of people just seem to love it!

Phew...caught up here too.

I LOVE your pictures of the Coronado at night. You know I love that resort, and I find it simply beautiful at night.

I love your Bambi shirt (I have the same one :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:).

I'm glad Jim enjoyed Test Track. We skipped it last week and will do so again in September...we just don't care for it all that much. You did awesome on designing your cars.

Sorry Jim didn't like Soarin'. You made a wise decision not asking for the first row.

I couldn't believe that Figment was 30 minutes when we were there last week. :faint:

I was kind of bummed too that he didn't like Soarin' but I wasn't surprised since he doesn't like heights. You really aren't missing much with Captain EO!

Aww. Shame about Figment and SE and Soarin'. Glad you got Captain EO in.

It was kind of a bummer of a morning, we got a lot less done than I wanted to but it was OK because we were headed back there again the next day.

Wow! there are a lot of people who really don't like soarin!!! glad he got his sea legs back and was ready for more!

I think it's just the heights that bothered him, it is a pretty realistic film! Yeah, I don't think you will miss much if you skip Captain EO! I do hope they come up with something better for that spot soon.

I'm one of the weirdos who can handle Soarin' even though I absolutely hate heights. Such a shame that Jim didn't enjoy it!

I'm pretty scared of heights myself but as long as I feel secure I'm OK. Disney rides always feel secure to me. You will never catch me on a rinky dink carnival ferris wheel though!

Captain EO... I'm so intrigued by that. Everyone says it's like the weirdest thing ever but a lot of people just seem to love it!

Believe me it is weird! Jim even thought it was a bit weird but all the 80s cheese won him over.

Phew...caught up here too.

It is a beautiful resort at night!

I think we have several shirts in common. Probably the hazzard of shopping at the same store. ::yes::

I'm glad Jim enjoyed Test Track. We skipped it last week and will do so again in September...we just don't care for it all that much. You did awesome on designing your cars.

I could take or leave Test Track but I was glad that Jim found something her really liked. The design part was kind of fun but not something I need to do every time.

Sorry Jim didn't like Soarin'. You made a wise decision not asking for the first row.

I was bummed but not surprised since he doesn't like heights.

I couldn't believe that Figment was 30 minutes when we were there last week. :faint:

Wow, that is long for Figment!

When we left off, Jim and I had just boarded our vehicle for a journey through the imagination. Join us if you will…….

When we got off the ride, Jim turned to me and asked what the heck that ride was all about. I tried to explain a little but he just said “That was weirder that Captain EO, I think I should have dropped some acid before I rode.” Of course my husband has never done a drug in his life, he barely even drinks at all which made his comment even funnier to me.

It was getting close to our lunch ADR time so we headed back towards the countries as we were eating at Rose and Crown.

We checked in about 10 minutes early and our buzzer went off right at our ADR time which was 12:45 pm. We were seated outside right next to the door that goes into the restaurant. It was about that time that I noticed how cold it was. It had been pretty chilly when we left the room that morning but it was supposed to warm up so I did not take a sweatshirt with me. But sitting on that patio with the cold wind blowing off of the lake, I was freezing. Jim was smarter than me, he had brought his sweatshirt with him.

We both ordered a Scotch Egg to start. That is a favorite appetizer of both of us and the main reason we wanted to eat at Rose and Crown. And then we sat there and sat there and sat there waiting for our food to come out. I was so cold that I was basically shaking the whole time we were sitting there. It was quite the drastic change from the scorching heat we had at the beginning of the week.

We did have a little bit of entertainment while we were waiting. A baby squirrel kept coming up on the patio and pestering all of the tables. There was a large party seated next to us and a few of the kids were scared of him and screaming. The CMs kept chasing him away but he would just come right back after a few minutes.

Finally after want seemed like forever, our appetizers came out. I apologize, I was quite hungry by that time and cut up my egg before I remembered to take a picture. If you don’t know what a Scotch Egg is, it’s basically a hard-boiled egg, wrapped in sausage and deep fried.

I think we both inhaled the Scotch Eggs, we were hungry and they are so good! Then we waited for a long time again before getting our entrees. Our waitress was very nice and kept apologizing to us for the long wait but it was kind of frustrating. Especially because it was so chilly sitting on the patio. If it had been a warmer day, the wait probably wouldn’t have seemed so bad. Finally our food came, we both ordered the fish and chips.

The Fish and Chips were delicious. The fish was really good but to me the star of the meal is the fries. I’m not sure what they do differently there but these are my favorite fries in all of WDW.

Jim decided he was way too full and declined dessert. I ended up doing the same which is unthinkable from me. But I was so cold at that point plus there wasn’t really anything on the dessert menu that I would have liked for sure. There used to be a chocolate cake on the menu but it was no longer available. I was thinking of trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding that everyone raves about but I decided to just skip it this time.

It took another bit of time to settle our bill because the Magic Band reader wasn’t working too well and she had to go get another one. Overall, we spent an hour forty five minutes at lunch. For Jim and I, that is unheard of, we are not ones to linger over a meal and are usually in and out of a restaurant in under an hour. That being said, I would still go back to Rose and Crown again, the food is just worth it!

It was now 2:30 pm and my idea of riding SE on the way out of the park was not going to work. I really wanted Jim to have some time for a nap before we headed to the Halloween Party that night. But there was one more thing I needed to do before we left Epcot. My costume for the evening was short sleeved and I knew I would freeze if I didn’t have something to wear underneath. Unfortunately all I had brought with me were hooded sweatshirts which would not work. So we headed to Mouse Gears where I found this lightweight sweatshirt. Front:

Back:

This was not something I would have normally picked out but it was the best I could find at the time. It turns out that I love the sweatshirt now and wear it all the time!

I also spotted the T-shirt that Jim had pointed out to me at DTD on Tuesday. I decided at this point that I needed the shirt so I went to get it too. Unfortunately then did not have my size. Jim asked a CM but they didn’t have any more in the back. I wasn’t too worried because we were headed back to DTD the next day and I knew they had it there.

Should have dropped acid :lmao: anyone who ever met and spent time with Jim would realize what a ludicrous statement coming out of his mouth this is...which is why it really is funny, as I told you when I met him he reminds me so much of my DSIL and you can't get any squeaky cleaner than that ( both he and DD Majors USMC ) yeah Jim should have dropped acid :rotfl: Seriously so sad that most people don't know who the heck Figment is sure would be nice if the M & G was there to help introduce him

Yum your whole meal at Rose & Crown I would have ( and do ) ordered the exact same things Long time there though WOW...cute Mickey Shirt the temps did drop didn't they ? Welcome to FL a/c on in the morning heat on at night

Not sure if you have a sweet, I mean REALLY sweet tooth Have you ever had Tonga Toast, to me it is really over the top sweet and way too filling, that's the best example I could give for the feeling with the pudding you missed
Then again so many are in the " must have" Tonga Toast camp so what do I know :confused3

Thanks for taking me along on the Journey to Imagination ride...the last line on the eye chart was a little blurry I may need to get my eyes checked :magnify:

Captain EO, never saw it never will I wish they would use the real estate for something else

Welcome back!

Figment IS pretty trippy! :rotfl:

Ugh such a shame about the chilly weather :( Not fun when you have to eat outside. I'm glad the meal was at least yummy, it looks delicious :)

Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!

Ahahahaha how did I know that line was coming from Jim and would probably involve Figment?! Baha, good times!

Awe man, that doesn't sound like an enjoyable lunch minus the food! The Scotch egg does sound intriguing, I'll have to try it sometime coming up!!

I have never heard of a Scotch Egg, but I want to be introduced to one right now!!!
