Okay I came to play catchup but before I read any further OMG you have the green flag!!! well Jim does ,I am trying to collect the flags n monorails pins but so far i only have 2 of each okay I'll go bacvk n read now

Jim got five of the flag pins while we were there. He has red, yellow, blue, green and purple. We are pretty sure there is one more but have no idea what color. A CM told us she thought it might be black but I haven't been able to find it on Ebay to check. I found out with some sets there is one that is very hard to find, called the chaser. We saw tons of the flag pins while we were there so I don't think you will have trouble finding them when you go. I'm also collecting the monorail ones, I have three of the six.

So many incredible pictures of Wishes!!! Just another fireworks show?!? Just another fireworks show???? I don't think Jim and I can ever be friends again. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Your pins were great! I loved the Big Al one too! I do remember when you started that collection!

So stinking frustrating with the grocery delivery!!! That is exactly how I felt in May when we were waiting to have our new mattresses delivered. Delivery was scheduled between 5-8 pm...and you deliver them at 11:00 pm, REALLY?!? Yeah, still haven't gotten over that one.

I don't blame you for disowning Jim! I wasn't surprised though, he doesn't really like fireworks to begin with.

I found out recently that the Big Al one is the "Chaser" in that set which is really hard to find. I don't recall seeing that pin again during the week even though I saw tons of the other five. I guess I just got lucky finding that one!

It was very frustrating waiting for the food delivery because I was so tired at that point and just wanted to go to sleep!

Thanks, I've been very pleased with the new camera! Jim really has been getting into the pins. I ordered some more recently to replenish my stock plus I'm setting up my Cousin's three kids with pins for Christmas. He spent a long time going through the batch when it came!

Ariana, you go twonderful photos of the castle and Wishes. What kind of camera did you get? I'm in the market for a new one.

I'm sorry for all the issues at the CSR. It sounds like several of the issues we had at the Beach Club in June. I hope things get better as the trip progresses.

No problems, I know you had a fun, busy weekend from seeing the pictures on Facebook.

The camera I got is a Canon Powershot S110. It was a little pricy for a point and shoot but so far it's been worth the cost with the pictures I have been getting.

Things did get better for the most part. We did have some more bus trouble though.

Great update! Love the Wishes pictures! And I think the one of you hammin' it up on SM and Jim just in la-la land is hilarious!

Bumemr that it took so long to get your food - that is waaaay too long, IMO.

The SM picture was pretty good, we got some great ones during the week and I really loved having PP+.

It was definitely way too long. I've very glad I didn't get through before we went to MK or we probably would have missed the Buzz FP+ and maybe even more than that.

Yes, the rest of the stay was better. Still had some bus troubles but you will hear about that as we go!

Looks like you had a great dinner!!! There have been such mixed reviews about dinner there I'm glad you liked it!!!

I have had dinner there twice now and absolutely loved it both times! I will be going back for dinner #3 in February!

We don't see fireworks outside of Disney so no clue what he was comparing them too. Jim really does not like fireworks shows plus they are usually more of a tramatic experience in our household as all three dogs are terrified of them.

The stay did get somewhat better!

When I went to bed the night before I made the decision to settle down and not worry so much. The first day had been kind of stressful because I was trying to get too much in and stay on a strict schedule. Plus we had the trouble with the buses and Bell Services which didn’t help. So I set the alarm for later than originally planned and threw rope drop out the window.

When we got up, I also decided just to throw my hair back in a ponytail. It had been so hot the day before that I wanted to get my hair off of my neck. This is a bit of a dangerous thing for me to do though. My hair is baby fine and in order to get it to stay in a ponytail I have to pull it kind of tight. This sometimes can give me a bad headache.

We ate breakfast in the room from our Garden Grocer order. Jim had a breakfast bar and I had cereal, a banana and a Coke Zero. Sorry Carrie Ann, no bagels on this trip.



As you can see, I brought along a very special Mickey Mouse bowl to eat my cereal out of. I also drank a bottle of water because it was supposed to be hot that day (I know that is a minute detail but it comes into play a little later).

So where were we headed this morning?



We left the room about 8:30 and must have caught a bus very quickly because I have in my notes that we were to AK by 9:00 am. There was a bit of a line at bag check.



By the time we got through bag check the soda and water I had drank caught up to me and I had to run to the restroom outside the gates. When I came back out, Jim grabbed me and said “There’s a monkey over there, let’s go”. I looked and sure enough, Rafiki was meeting right near the bathrooms! We got in line and had our first meet and greet for the day. There was no PP photographer but the CM took some pictures for us with my camera.





After that we headed to the gate and I went through first and went to get a times guide. I turned around and Jim was still back at the gate because his MB was not working. Well, the band was working but his fingerprint was not. A CM had to come and reset his fingerprint and then we were able to move on. She said it happens sometimes if your fingers are sweaty or greasy. We chalked it up to the sunscreen Jim was wearing. No clue at this point what kind it was but boy it was greasy! Jim looks like his is glowing in quite a few of the photos this day. He ended up throwing it out using my sunscreen the rest of the week.

Once we got to the bridge to cross over to Discover Island, we stopped to get some PP pictures. Here I was, getting in the park after rope drop and not running like a mad woman to get on as many rides as possible. And you know what, it was kind of nice.





The photographer had us hold up a total of fifteen fingers for our fifteenth anniversary.



This last one cracks me up every time I look at it. Best unintentional Photo Bomb of the trip.



That lady was totally oblivious to the fact that photographs were being taken.

We headed on towards the Tree and stopped for yet another set of PP pictures. There was a short line so I took pictures while we waited.





I don’t think I ever noticed before that there were some small Monkeys right there.





And a duck too.

A CM was out feeding them.



The photographer was taking some time with each with each family which was nice and we ended up getting quite a few photos. These are the first ones where you can really see the shirt that my Brother and SIL got me for my birthday.







We got some Magic Shots!





And then we headed on towards Africa.





As we crossed the bridge, I checked out the construction on the new FOLK theater.





Looks like it’s moving right along!

Yep the pin thing is a bit of an obsession with him. I just bought him a pin case so he has a place to keep all of them!

Still in the mood to just mosey along, we stopped in the store in Africa to look around. Jim decided to model a pair of Mickey ears for me.



We then headed to take a walk along the Pangani Forest trail.



Two of the Colobus Monkeys were hanging out right at the front of the habitat.









This sign cracked me up so I had to take a picture.



I let Jim set the pace since he is not much of an animal person so we moved through the trail pretty quickly.









I don’t know why I always feel the need to photograph the fish in the bird sanctuary. I guess they are just so pretty and I find them interesting.







There were no Hippos out, just more pretty fish.



I have always been fascinated by the Meerkats so I made Jim stay here a little longer than he wanted to.











When we made it to the first window by the Gorillas there was one laying on the ground right up front with a whole lot of people oohing and aahing over him. Jim looked at me and asked “Why do people like to look at Monkeys lying on the ground?” I of course had to correct him and tell him they were Gorillas, not monkeys to which I got a “whatever”. We hadn’t even made it through one trail and he had reached his animal viewing limit.

It was pretty crowded at the windows so I just took two quick photos and we headed out of there.





Well, first I made Jim compare his hand to a Gorillas.



We stopped for another minute to look at the bachelor group but this guy started freaking Jim out so we moved on.





Jim said that he was “eyeing him up” and was going to come get him. I laughed and said that Disney would not let the Gorilla get him but he wasn’t convinced and hurried me out of there. It may have just been a ploy on his part to get out of more animal watching.

I love this update...even if there are NO food porn photos. Jim in the pink ears!! Can I just say, Jim may have been onto something about the gorilla eyeing him to "get him"... Did you happen to at look the previous photos with the smaller gorilla? Notice all the scratches on the plexiglass? Wonder how they got there? Yeah...the man just COULD be onto something.

I think that's why I love the Meerkats so much, Lion King is one of my all time favorite movies!

The big guy actually isn't behind glass, he's just across a fence! There is no visable barracade but I'm sure that Disney has some way of keeping him from attacking guests.

You should definitely try to find some time to walk that trail, tons of great photo opportunities.

And as for the DIS boards, no way! He know I write about the trips but has no idea what the site is. The DIS boards are my private get away spot and he can stay away.

He did have to pick one of the most girly pairs, don't know why he did that.

That big guy didn't move the whole time we were watching him. He was pretty far up on the hill, those pictures are zoomed quite a bit. I think it would have been funny to see how Jim would have reacted if he had suddenly started moving towards us. I can just picture him screaming like a teenage girl and running away!

Great wishes shots!! Too bad about the tal and ear hat waering girls in front of you for celebrate the magic, but at least you were able to move for wishes!! Gotta love those shows!! So magical!

Have to say the thing I hate most about the moderates is the bus loop, and CSR was definitely not my favorite resort to stay at when I could do Port Orleans instead lol. I probably wouldn’t stay there again. Too bad you guys didn’t have a great experience either!!

Anne had the same problem with her finger being greasy from the sunscreen and not working with her card!! It’s a weird thing…lol. Also, never seen Rafiki out front of AK, that’s interesting, and FUN!

Awesome photopass pictures! Glad you don’t get upset by photobombers on the main drags of Disney! Some people go crazy and it’s like, calm down, they don’t even know its going on most of the time! Great animal pics! I haven’t been on that trail in nearly two years! Despite AK being one of my favorite parks I never seem to spend quite enough time there!
