Fright potential of MGM's Rock N' Roller Coaster? For me, Thunder Mountain was tame, Space Mountain lame, Tower of Terror was terrifying. TIA.

I thought the very beginning was the "worst" part. The rest to me was compareable to Space Mountain. The best part was the beginning, the rest I found disappointing. TOT I LOVE!!! :thumbsup2

I love BTMRR and Space Mountain, but both lack the 'wow' factor that takes your breath away. R'n'RC definitely has that, IMO. :)

As for ToT, well, I went on it once many years ago, and haven't plucked up the courage to do it again!

The very worst part takes about 10-15 seconds then the bad stuff(Good stuff if coaster rider) is over and it is like all other Disney attractions (visual). THe first part everyone is referring to is the take where you go from stopped to full speed in a matter of a few seconds into the dark unknown. I will tell you more, but don't want to be a spoiler.

I took a pass on ToT; I've been on it before. I don't like how I feel for awhile after being on it. Very disorienting. RnR is nothing like that.

RnR was one of my favorite rides this visit. Went on it 3 times. Much smoother than Space Mt. and tons more fun.

From your specs, I think you'd love it. :thumbsup2

I Love RnR- I think all roller coasters should have music on them. Always reminds me of being at the state fair on the Himalaya as a little kid. The TOT I could do without- I've been on it a few times but don't really enjoy.

I went on RnRC on my September trip ALONE and loved it!!! My DH is not into looping coasters, my DD8 was scared, and my DS5 did not meet the height requirement otherwise he would have been more than happy to accompany me.

The whole ride is great but the best part is when they build up your anxiety as you hear Steve Tyler counting down to the launch into the tunnel. I wanted so bad to do this ride again but unfortunately I didn't get to. :sad2: I will definitely take advantage on our next trip.

Try it at least once and I have a feeling you will not be disappointed. ;) ;)

It sounds as though you like thrill rides. If this is true, you'll love it and may even think it's a little tame. I come from Ohio and usually visit Cedar Point, the coaster capital of the world at least once/year. For us, the RNRC was somewhat tame for what we're used to, but it was still a thrill ride.

I'm always nervous going on these types of rides, and tempted to chicken out at the last minute. But I end up going on them, and having fun, although one time is enough for me.

I think this was the first roller coaster that I went on, that just starts out very fast.

Out of curiosity, why was Tower of Terror so terrifying? ToT is my absolute favorite ride (I think partially due to my love/obession with the Twilight Zone) and find it more mild then Rock N Rollercoaster mostly due to the fact that with ToT, they just drop you a few times, while RnR takes you upside down.

I think RnR is a must do. Its fun, has great music, good visuals, and usually the pictures from the ride are hysterical. Definately go on it if you have a chance :thumbsup2:
