Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Should I or shouldn't I?

DSis and I are big chickens. We didn't want to go on ToT and we didn't like PotC (we thought that Disney did too good a job making it feel like you were realistically out in the open water and it freaked us out) , but she insisted on RnR and we both LOVED it.

Ok, I'll give it a go - it doesn't sound that bad. Is it worse than Space Mountain? I thought that was ok, but I didn't like the fact that I was just rattling around in the seat and I felt like I was going to fall out. At least on RnR you're sort of held in.
The takeoff of RnR sounds mad! I thought they were just exaggerating on the commercials! I'll have to remember to push my head back before we start. Eeeshk! Wish me luck (thanks to those of you who already did)!

The best thing about RnRC is that you don't get pulled up a hill then dropped. I love roller coasters, but I hate getting pulled up a hill.

Instead, you get catapulted like a fighter jet on an Aircraft Carrier. It's a blast and if you ride upfront, then you get the "wind" in your face.

We took DD8 on RnRC for the 1st time last weekend. She was initially scared but after the 1st ride, she was hooked. We rode it 5-6 times during our stay...partly so we could get a good picture to take home. (They take the pics on takeoff, so we had to practice our "takeoff smile".)

Hearing all these stories makes me really regret not trying it last time. I actually stood in front of RnR, considered it for about 10 minutes, but finally chickened out. I was solo and so afraid that if I didn't like it, no one would be with me to carry me out! I'm wondering, has anyone at all tried it and NOT liked it? I'll definitely be of it next time, and if I get too scared, it's all YOUR fault-not mine (LOL)!

My family LOVED it!...and we can't wait to ride it again! Go for it!

Me and DD (age 9) were excited to try RNR for the first time on our Nov 05 trip, but we were also a little nervous because we went on a Launching Rollercoaster at our local theme park, Valleyfair over the summer, that ended up being very scarey.

We just pumped ourselves up for the ride and were trying to guess which song would play during our ride. We boarded our limo and I held on to our backbacks for dear life, as you can't place them outside of the train.
Then the countdown started... and the traffic light switched to green and zoooommmmm!!!! we were off thru the tunnel.
The takeoff was the freakiest part, but after that, DD and I sang along to "Walk this Way" and it seamed like the rollercoaster moved to the music!!!
The singing along made the ride a blast.

I was impressed with DD, who said she loved it and wanted to ride it again.
We got in line a 2nd time and the ride had to be shut down.
So sadly, we only got to ride it once...

Go for it, you can try and guess which song will play during your ride!!! Have a rockin time.

I asked the same question before our October trip and all the replies convinced me to give it a try. It was AWFUL I was so petrified that I couldn't even scream. I just held on to my daughters leg for dear life and prayed it would be over soon. I agree that it is smooth and there are no sharp drops but the speed makes it an incredibly intense ride. It took me ages to recover. I ride everything else at Disney except ToT and I will DEFINITELY NOT try this again!

I encourage you to try it! It is pretty intense (especially so, because it's dark, like Space Mountain). Compared to Space Mountain, I would say: It's twice as fast and goes upside down (although you often can't truly tell you're upside down!). It's my favorite ride at MGM.

FYI, I tried Mission Space the first time this year, and didn't like it at all -- but I was so proud of myself for trying it!!!

JUST DO IT!!!
My DS8 loved it ---Aerosmith is now 'his favorite rock band' (not that he could tell you any thing else about them) We all loved it - even my DMom63 and she doesnt do coasters! Ok--maybe she didnt love it -- but she did go on it!
It is worth a try!

Hubby, me, dd13 and dd6 rode this rode about 5 times when in WDW a couple of weeks ago and we LOVED it!!! My kids would have gone more if we let them!!! It was very fun!

It's a total rush. I'm pretty chicken, so it took a lot to get me on that ride, but it's worth it. The initial take-off is fast, but it's very close in speed to Test Track (if you've been on that). And the loops are done & gone in no time flat--if it were a lighted ride, I couldn't do it. Since it's dark in there, you're not fully aware of going through the loops--at least it seems that way to me.

The general rule in our family is, you have to try it once. If you try it & hate it, you'll never have to go on it again. It's one of the few coasters I'm willing to go on again. :rotfl:

Ok, DH and I were talking about this last night. When we were there in March, we did not get to ride any of the good rides because DS8 was afraid. When we went back in Sept, we rode all of the Mtns. at MK and Test Track at EPCOT. TT is my favorite. I wanted to ride it over and over and over. While Space Mtn was fun, I thought it jerked a lot. I love Splash Mtn, but I get really nervous about the drops. If RRC is close in speed to TT and there are no drops, then I think DH and I should try it this next trip. I don't want to mislead him, though. I thought there was just one loop, so I will have to correct that when we discuss it again. Is it really close to TT in speed? I might be able to talk him into it - now to talk myself into it.

I'm not a fan of huge drops so the Rockin' Roller Coaster is my kind of ride. Unfortunately it is VERY bumpy, and my head gets knocked around quite a bit on it. I have BPPV (an inner ear disorder) and this is the only ride at WDW that seems to aggravate it. I am dizzy for at least a few days after riding it. So unfortunately, no more RRC for me :(

id go for it..i just rode it yesterday and even though im terrified of coasters this one was really fun. the very beginning is really intense but after that its great..theres no big drops and its not too scary
