Just read on mouseplanet.com that Rock N Roller Coaster will be closed for refurb from January 7th 2007 to February 10th 2007.

I hope that's the only major attraction closed during this time as it's DBF's newbie trip (though luckily he's been on RRC at DLP)

Oh I hope that's not true!! That's my favorite ride and we'll be down there during that time! What a downer!!

I found this on www.allearsnet.com

I'll be gutted if this is true - I haven't been to WDW for 10 years, and i was looking forward to seeing RnR on my visit.

I have fired a quick email off to Disney to see if they'll confirm the rehab.

Yes, they will be closed in January per my daughter who just returned from being a CM on RRC all summer. They're refurbing and putting in a single rider line.

Madge, did your daughter mention anything about them changing the restraint System?

Thanks :)

Why would they change the restraint system?

I know how disappointing it is when attractions are closed. We went last year (was MIL and FIL's first trip) and were disappointed too! We thought we wouldn't be going again for a while living quite a way away... but we're going back in 3 weeks

We had previously planned our day for Studios to be Jan 6th, now how lucky is that? :thumbsup2

We're pretty gutted about it. DBF first joked we should cancel the holiday and rebook for February but luckily he was just messing around. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry!

I'm no just hoping that the Monsters Inc. attraction at MK will open during our stay to make up for the lack of RnR... mouseplanet also stated this should open in January :cheer2:

Where is a Monsters Inc. attraction going to be in MK? Maybe in the Timekeeper area? Is it a ride through or a meet & greet area?

Near Buzz I think, it's a stand up comedy show with the characters. Looks fun :goodvibes

We rode RNR on our November 05 and our March 06 trips and loved how smooth the ride was.
We recently rode it on 8/30 and It was alot jerkier this time.
I LOVE rollercoasters and had a headache after riding this 3 times.

Hopefully with the refurbishment, it will be a smoother ride afterwards.
?????

Either way, this is my favorite ride a DW.

Oh man, My dh is gonna be so upset. This is his favorite attraction. I love it too!!!!! We will be there from January 16th until January 28th. Oh well...at least there will be a few new attractions to see.

So glad that on my January trip, I planned on going to MGM on the 6th :D

We were originally planning on a February trip, but my SO started a new job recently and won't have vacation time until June. I'm glad we had to put it off now as this is one of our favorites.

Another thread on these boards mentioned that some theme Parks have switched to various styles of laptop/torso restraints in lew of the over the head/shoulder restraints on their fast launch and inverted coasters. Many people (including me) experience discomfort caused by heads impacting against the the over the shoulder kind. I'd love to ride RnR again if this problem were solved. :)

Will I am sort of depressed by this... (its my favorite ride and we are usually there in Jan for our anniversary) I am not suprised.

This last January both Test Track, Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear were down. If its just Rockin Roller Coaster it shouldn't be to bad,

As far as shoulder restraints, RNR is a Vekoma, I have NEVER seen a Vekoma looping coaster without horse collar restraints. They have followed their predecessor Arrow Dynamics too well in this case.
