Maybe they have not updated or entered the info, but Disneys website has nothing in MGM as being closed for operation/rehab in Jan/Feb. It does list things for the previous months,but says nothing on RRC.

Major disappointment here - it's one of our favorite rides and we only get there every 5 years! Please someone reassure me that they will not close down another major attraction during the same time!

Now, if they'd like to close down IASW and COP while we're there, I wouldn't object..!

The official Disney website disney.com does NOT have it listed as one of the rides that will be closed during that time. I checked the other lands and it listed other things that will close during that time like Many adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and body wars, also typhoon lagoon for refurb all during jan and feb, MGM listed nothing. I am assuming either this was a rumor or Disney has not updated, but they have all the other refurbs already listed for jan/feb so don't know why this would not be on there if others are and being this is one of the big costers I would think it would be on there by now. Again just going by their website.

On the first page, post 4, their daughter just returned from doing the CM summer program at RnR and said it would be down.

well January is considered the true off-season and inevitably since there's so few people they want to refurb attractions at that time

Cause of not knowing for certain I called disney just to clarify this information. They said Absolutley not. The CM said they get this information 6 months out, and looked it up and said it will not be closed for refurb he also stated that he gets this information before even the workers in the park or ride hears it. Since this is a major attraction he said he would have gotten notified way before now about this. He stated what would be closing but with no holds barred and no uncertainty the ride is not closing. If I am wrong from what I was told by them then I appologize, but this is the information I got an hour and a half ago.

Well, I just spoke to my daughter again and she says she and all the other CMs she works with were advised this. She's still in contact with CMs on RRC and they say the refurb is going ahead in January and that they'll be moved to another attraction temporarily.

I also checked the Disney site...you're correct in saying that it isn't yet posted. I'm sure in the past though that the official Disney site tends to be the last one to officially announce it. I hope the CM you called is correct with his info.

Ahhh Splash Mountain is closed too?? Luckily the website says it will reopen on January 28th - I think part of our last day will be spent in MK. I have it down as a 'Repeat Day' - we will do what ever we didn't get finished earlier in the trip. Now going to put it down as a Disney Park Hop day!

I was expecting a few rides to be down during this time as it is a quiet time... but why are they all my favourites?!! If they close Buzz I'll be devastated....
