Rock N' Roller Coaster Pre-Show

i close my eyes at take-off because it will scare you to death it is soooo fast, but then these cool neon signs come up and you really want to see them so i open my eyes, then i close them that's all i do ..open..close...fyi,it's my 5 yr olds favorite ride :rotfl:

You really should give it a try. It's actually LESS rough than Space Mounatin.

There are no large drops because it's a launched coaster - from the "alley" you board in you can watch the limos go from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. That's the scariest part - seeing it happen.

The actual ride though is really neat, if you close your eyes you would never know it had corkscrews. As a plus, you can't see the track around you because of the darkness which also makes it much easier to take.

Some recomendations though - you may want to sit as far in the FRONT as possible. I know that may be odd advice to give to a non-coaster fan but on the RNR the front is smoother and you don't feel the speed of the launch as much. The back tends to throw you around a little bit more and the launch feels twice as fast.

I really hope you try it - I'm only a minor Aerosmith fan and it's still the first ride I do on every trip. Even if I go to MGM just to ride it first and go somewhere else I do. RnR is really a treat - and if you like Aerosmith, you will be in pig heaven.

N.E.D.

And don't forget to look for the Hidden Mickey in the pre-show. Hint: look carefully at the cables on the floor. :)

For who asked the height to ride this it is 48 inches, my daughter went on a backstage tour of this ride and rode it two times in a row without exiting when she was 6 and just loved it, she insists on going on this first when we arive in may and doing it more then once ... you will love it !!!

Nikki Sixx Chick's favorite band is Aerosmith? Isn't that a contridiction in bands? :rotfl2:

Lol! I gues it kind of is. I never thought about that. Nikki Sixx is my all time favorite bass player though so I thought I should give some props to him especially since he's on tour finally. :cool1:

And after reading all of your posts and advice I really think I'm going to try this. You only live once, right? I think it'll be worth it. And I'll take NewEnglandDisney's advice on where to sit. The less I feel on this ride, the better. :) Thanks everyone. :goodvibes

Concerning the numbered/named cars with the song listing, are the cars in the order you numbered them? Because I wanna try to get into a car in which I know the song, LOL.

They rarely run all five cars at once; more like three on the average. The license plate is on the back; you'll just have to watch as the cars go by while you're in line to board, and then switch around with people to get in the one you want.

I finally got my dd, 11, on this one. It took me several years but she did it in August and now we can't keep her off the darn thing!! It is incredibly smooth. Just about the only way you will know that you are upside down is that your shoulders hit the over the shoulder harness. Another piece of advice for you folks with long hair...don't put it in a ponytail. When that puppy takes off and your head is smashed against the back of your seat, that pony-tail can hurt like the dickens.

Have to say that almost every single one of our photos has me with my eyes closed. My ds, 31, asked me 'Why do you keep going on the stupid thing if you're so afraid that you close your eyes?!' Not out of fear my sweet....I'm just enjoying the sensation of take-off!!! It is soooo cool.

You said you don't like drops and just so you'll know there really aren't any big drops to this coaster. It does go very fast and corkscrew and go upside down but doesn't have those traditional huge hills like outdoor coasters. Also its very short, maybe a minute and half. It is so cool to ride it with that music blasting in your ear. Definitely at least do the preshow, if you love Aerosmith you won't want to miss that.

That is true....there are no drops, at all in this ride....only loops...so if you don't mind that...you should ride....it is great!

I've been doing some thinking since I started this thread and I'm really starting to consider just going on the ride. And the music is the main reason. I think if I just concentrate on the music (like you said) then I think I can get so caught up in singing my favorite songs and it'll be fine. Plus I've talked to my mom who's been on it a few times and she says that its so dark in there that you don't even know whats coming and the fact that they keep you in the bars so tight makes it hard for you to feel anything happening around you.

BTW, what other songs do they play on the ride? :p

GO ON THIS RIDE!!!! It is the BEST!!! Especially with Aerosmith BLASTING in your ears!!! My dds eight and ten are going on this year!!!! I can't wait for all six of us to experience this ride together!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!! 15 more days to go!!!!

Here's where Aerosmith talks to you in the studio.

You have to try the ride! It is such a cool experience if you are an Aerosmith fan! I've been riding it for 5 years and last trip was he first time I kept my eyes open! It is a short enough ride that you can keep your eyes closed and listen to the music with little fear....but it is AMAZING with your eyes open!

More hidden mickeys: floor in first room of G-Force records, poster in room before the real preshow (higher level--very hard to see), and license plate of limo. Been on this one just a few times :)

Nikki, I say try the ride. It isnt so bad. Plus they bang aerosmith music during the ride. My mother is the biggest chicken known. Believe it, and she went after 5 trips, of missing it. She said it wasnt bad at all. She loved it. Just try it once. You wont be disapppointed!! You can do it! :thumbsup2

That's great that you want to try the ride! You won't regret it! But, be warned that it takes off really, really, really fast. It actually took my fiance and I by surprise! Just as long as you expect that first jolt...then you'll be fine. Have fun!

I can't do rollercoasters, but I LOVE Aerosmith so on our trip last Dec. I made up my mind I was riding it----I love it!!!!
I was scared but it was so much fun, we rode about 12 times during our trip!!

The worst part for me is waiting for it to take off, but after that I'm ok.
Make sure your head is back against the seat.
The front car is awesome!!! We were scared to death being in the very front, but being in back is alot rougher.

I love the preshow, I love Steven Tyler & seeing him in the preshow is awesome. It seems like he is really there.
Give the super stretch limo a try --you won't be disappointed!! :thumbsup2

I also hate those "weightless drops". But...this coatser is my favorite! It is so smooth, and fun,..not at all nauseating. Yes, you go upside down, but it is almost impossible to tell when that is. I would try it...I think you'll be surprised how much fun :Pinkbounc :cool1: it is!
