That's when something breaks down that is not normal maintenance and needs repaired right away. Really, not sure why it matters why, it's more important to know when it will be back on line. That particular ride breaks down quite a bit.

I don't know what's worse, RR or Test Track. Always down multiple times when we've gone.

Yes - I know what emergency maintenance is!! Just seemed very strange that it's been down for two days now - haven't known that before... :/

Yes. They have to repair issues and go through several safety tests to ensure the issue is resolved. It may even be they have to get specialized parts. Two days isn't that long. If it was down for two weeks without explanation I would be curious.

Is there a reason you're concerned? As in did you hear rumors or were injured?

Perhaps the simple and obvious answer: they're on their holiday and want to ride it?

I would assume "the reason for concern" could possibly be a planned trip with the intent to ride RNR! We just left WDW today, we were at Hollywood Studios yesterday with first time guest (my nephew, on his birthday!) and with Sooo few rides there, it was extremely disappointing to not be able to ride! Not to mention what it does to the wait times to ToT! over 2 hrs! Combined with the madness of Star Wars Weekend, it was a terrible day!

Oh I agree but it's just that so many times people want to know the why. What's the difference it would not make sense to most people any way.

I just don't get the point of getting upset over something trivial. Things go down. Sometimes there is a major issue. Sometimes it's a minor thing. I didn't realize it would be something to get so upset about.

I know the procedures the ride has to go through before it can be re-opened, and understand that these things can be had to fix quickly. And, as for the reason, why does it even matter? But if you must know; 1) I will be travelling soon and may want to ride it, and 2) I am just curious. I am a huge Disney World fan and wondered if anyone knew any more than I had already heard.

Exactly! :) DHS is so empty now anyway, one ride down makes the situation even worse. I can imagine how mad ToT must have been, and how it is today! SWW makes the crowds worse anyway...

^Agreed. Why is it some trivial that OP is concerned by the closures? It's a very popular and awesome ride, I'm curious when it will be up as well!
I have an upcoming trip and are curious. As mentioned in another reply, I am a big fan of WDW and keep up with all the latest news/events/happenings, so really just wondered what was going on and if anyone knew any more. It also ruined Parkeology's WDW46 attempt yesterday, something I followed very closely!

How wouldn't a reason make sense? Yes, don't go too detailed, but whats wrong with people who would understand knowing? I have an upcoming trip, and are also curious and interested to see what has caused such an extended downtime compared to usual temporary closures.

It was very disappointing to us because after my nephew (8) rode Everest like a champ I had him all excited to ride RNR and we actually waited around the park with really nothing to do hoping it would re-open, which obviously it did not, just a real bummer for our last day. Had we known it wouldn't re-open, we would have left a lot sooner and had some nice down time at our resort since other ride options really weren't there (ToT 120 min wait, Toy Story 140 min wait, Star Tours 90 min wait). This park needs a serious revamp! Hate spending the extra $ for hopper since we can spend a full day in all the other parks, no problem but HS is at best a 1/2 day and it 1 ride down and what it,does to wait times, it's just a total waste of a day :(

For a community that is based on the trivial things in WDW, I'm surprised that you're surprised or annoyed that someone would want to know or might get annoyed that they can't ride one of very few rides at DHS.

Very disappointing indeed. Well done to your nephew for riding EE, that can be quite intense for a young one. Nice job! :) Thats the worst when you have someone hyped for riding an exciting rollercoaster, and then they can't. Oh no! Even worse, your last day meaning you can't go back to ride when it re-opens... :( If you had known, you could have park hopped to another park and ridden some other rides. DHS wait times are mad at the best of times, especially during Star Wars Weekends, but with RNRC down too - sounds like hell! The park is going to be getting a serious revamp very soon, a complete makeover with new name and everything! :) Won't be completed for a few years though... HS to me is a half day, and then an evening to see Fantasmic! I'm sorry to hear that your last day was not so good - did you have a good trip apart from that?

Very well said! Thank you!! :) Isn't that what the DIS Boards are for? To ask questions and discuss things about every part of Disney with other people? I don't see why people are getting annoyed that I asked a simple question out of curiosity, and to plan my upcoming trip - if RNRC is closed, is there really much point going to DHS?
