Are we the only ones who found the Rock N Roll comedy of Gary DeLama painfully bad on the 14 Day Panama Canal Cruise?

We have had Gary Delena on several of our cruises and always thought he was very funny....not sure if it the same guy you are referring to.

We have also enjoyed his act on both of our cruises...even with some of the same material.

We thought he was one of the highlights of our cruise! Did you not like the show all together or do you just think he was having an off week?

Gary Delena is awesome. I really enjoyed him, especially they way he teased the interpreters and tried to trip them up a couple of times.

Honest answer, we were looking forward to seeing Gary DeLena again and we were disappointed that he used a lot of old material. For instance, the Winona Ryder shoplifting song. That incident happened 4 years ago.

We decided to skip his performance later on in the cruise at Rock N Bar D because of this. His act needs some serious updating.

Whoa......And that's from one of the WebMasters!!!!! :earseek:

We had Michael Harrison as the comedian on our Wonder cruise last month....He was all right, I guess. I am definitely not into that whole "Dice" type of comedy, I like stupid comedy, but since it was at night and all adult, it could have been More Adult - not sex talk or anything like that, but my kids could have attended that's how tame it was. It was definitely geared toward family, not adults. ( I still sensor what they watch). There was one innuendo about golf balls, but that's about it.
However, I'll never look at a Tennis Ball the same way :goodvibes

Hi Regina,
I think a lot of the entertainment needs to be updated.....didn't we discuss this on that long quiet bus ride without music??????? :rotfl:

Hey, I started to sing but no one joined in. :teeth:

I'm guessing that part of the problem is that they have to keep their acts fairly wholesome. I'm sure that their routines on land have a lot of material that will never make the cut on a Disney ship.

Apparently there were complaints about Bob Saget's first performance. For the second show we were told that he had to tone down the references to his ex-wife and couldn't sing the "Danny Tanner isn't gay" song that he did for us. (Don't know this for certain since that's not the show that we attended.)

We actually were pleasantly surprised by Michael Harrison's "adult" act. He pushed the envelope a bit, and we loved it. I've seen Rich Purpura do the same final routine a zillion times but it still cracks me up. It's so silly. :rotfl:

We didn't really enjoy his cabaret act on our March cruise, although I have to say that most of the crowd really did. I thought he played well to a large house when he did his bit as part of our "Farewell" show the next night, he just wasn't our cup of tea. It probably didn't help that the night before we had seen Mike Super's (magician, I think that is his name) cabaret show, which we thought was really fabulous.

My DH and I thought Gary was hysterical! We enjoyed his show alot.

Yep, Revolution gone, big, big finish......... :rotfl:

It's a classic. :rotfl2:

I too, loved Garys show twice. But on my second cruise I could pretty much say...."oh yeah, listen to this one, its funny" to the other people with me because it was identical to the previous year cruise I was on.

I guess MOST people dont cruise again within a year or two so he figures he can keep it the way it is....but sadly, us Disney addicts...do cruise yearly lol.

Something about cell phone music as well!!!

I'm sure Disney has a hard time coming up with acts....we are a captive audience. It must be near to impossible to get someone everyone likes.

Leaving Disneyland in a few hours, then home. Back to work on Monday...Vacation over :sad2: :sad2: As was said at the final show....."I can't believe it's over!"
