After numerous trips to WDW it may be time to check out RNR. I and DS 10 like some thrill rides but not the super intense ones. We have done Space,Splash,TOT,BTMRR and TOT. How would you rate RNR in relation to these?

Loking forward to the answers?
Thanks one and all

Well it is nothing like any of the rides you mentioned. If you have ever ridden a big coaster from any other park, it isn't much different than that. There is no drops so you don't get that feeling like ToT, but the takeoff is AMAZING!

I found it much more intense than any of the ones you mentioned (except for BTMR, since I haven't done that for many, many years - no time on last December's trip). However, I've done many more intense roller coasters elsewhere. I found that, because it was dark and you only saw the "street signs" I didn't even notice the times we turned upside down.

I find roller coasters much scarier when you can see where you are going.

Have you rode any big coasters? RnR is my FAVORITE!!! I love coasters and go to Cedar Point for coasters frequently... RnR is fast, you have the music blaring... your going so smooth and fast upside down... this way, that way... it is a fantastic coaster!!!

RNRC is very very smooth - not jerky at all. If you love rollercoasters - check it out. It's only 1 minute and 11 seconds long anyway

I would go on RnR over Space Mountain any day! RnR is a smooth ride and it's bright enough you can kind of see what's coming. And there really are no drops. You go for a couple loops, but it so fast you don't realize you are upside-down. The only reason it looks more intense is because of the "take off."

Space Mountain is loud and rackety, and you can't see any upcoming drops or curves. I always get whip lash! I honestly just don't like Space Mountain, I am always scared of hurting myself.

MY DD(10) loves Roller Coasters and this is her favorite Disney Coaster :woohoo: . I've never been on it because I DO NOT like coasters. :scared1: After reading this thread, however, I think I may actually try it on our trip in July. :dancer:

I am really scared of roller coasters but on our last trip I rode the RnR with my kids. I must admit that the RnR is one of the smoothest, easiest roller coasters I have ever been on. In fact, I rode it 3 times in a row. I just couldn't get over the fact that I didn't even notice we had gone upside down until after we had come out of that loop. :confused3

Next to Mission:Space, Rock'n'Roller Coaster is probably the most intense ride at Disney. The most intense part is at the take off. Once you're past that, it's not that big of a deal. I would give it a try if I were you.

Isn't there a bar (for lack of a better word) that goes over your shoulders to hold you in? I've found that the rollercoasters that secure me in are less frightening than the ones with skinny little lap belts! I think I'm going to try it this year... :teeth: Yea!

Yes, there are shoulder bars that come down over your head and rest kind of on your shoulders so you feel really secure. They are kind of like the ones on Stitch's Great Escape, if I remember correctly (I only did that once). You can reach up and hold onto the vertical bars on each side of your head, but they are not so close that you might bump your head on them.
I was scared half to death the first time I rode RNRC since I'm not a coaster fan, and I kept my eyes closed the first time I rode it. Since I survived the ride, I thought I'd try it again. :teeth: Now it's my favorite ride! But I can only ride it 2-3 times before I start burping. :confused3 Not sure why it affects me that way. Weird.

Corkscrew Ahead!

RnR is the best coaster (well, the only "real" coaster) on the Disney property.

RNR & TOT is my all time favorite! It's more fun than anything! Now, you talk scary, try the Sheirkra @ Bush Gardens. I was terrified!! But I was so glad I did it! 200 ft drop! Whhhhheeeee! I can't wait to go on RNR again!

When I went to MGM Studio's last year, I was so excited to for this attraction. I was really looking forward to it because I really never experienced an actual rollercoaster outside of the traditional mountain's found at Magic Kingdom. :goodvibes

When we got off of Tower of Terror, which I loved, we headed over to this attraction and noticed the wait time wasn't nearly as long as imagined. We decided we would give this a try. So we proceeded to enter and just as we did my Cousin [7 yrs old.] started throwing a fit! She wanted nothing to do with it. However, she loved Tower of Terror. :confused3 Anyway, to make the story short - because I was there with my Uncle and Cousin, I gave in and we skipped this attraction. I could have easily met up with them later, but I didn't feel it was the right thing to day.

However, I do plan on going back to MGM Studio's on my next Disney Adventure [after Animal Kingdom] and I do intend to ride it this time. With or without hissy Cousins, Parents, or Siblings! :thumbsup2

Oh, I did find something that may help you in your decision to ride it though. Here is a picture of the attraction [without the building.]

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I can't wait to share that one with my family! :lmao: I can hardly wait to ride! This is gonna be so good!

I went on this ride because my boyfriend loves these types of rides and i'll probably be on it again this year (thats love for you  lol). I just wondered am I the only person who did not hear music on rock'n'rollercoaster for the sound of my own screaming? Lol, I guess the most intense is when you take off, I say that because it did hold me back from screaming for a while lol, anyway my eyes were still pretty much closed for the entire time and not to mention how i gripped onto the handle bars...lol. So yeah you love thrill rides you'll probably love it :thumbsup2

Enjoy :teeth:

I am not a roller coaster person at all. I don't do the Hulk or any rides like that, but I absolutely love RnR. In fact, it is my favorite ride at WDW. I think because it is in the dark, and I don't know what's coming up, it doesn't scare the heck out of me. It is also very smooth, not like Space Mtn. at all. :thumbsup2

I HATE rollercoasters. We just got back yesterday, and this trip something possessed me to try some of the rides...what the heck I figured. I rode TOT...NEVER AGAIN haha. Right after that I rode Rockin' Roller Coaster. HOLY COW!!!! I LOVED IT!!! I would ride it again. Splash scares me, but Rockin' Roller Coaster was a cakewalk. Very fun. Take it from a chicken...it is really really fun.
