Robin's chapel service was beautiful.

I have just returned home from Robin's chapel service and it was absolutely beautiful.

Prior to the service beginning, Janette and I sat in the chapel discussing our memories of Robin and our hopes for Caitlyn, who was not present. I couldn't help but wonder if the delay in the start of the proceedings were in hopes that Caitlyn would arrive. All the while, the air was filled with classic Disney tunes.

The music stopped, the service began. A few minutes into it all, little Caitlyn was escorted to the front of the chapel to see her Mommy and to sit with her family. She was so precious in her little purple dress. I can only assume that the man who brought her in was her father, but thankfully, she was exactly were she belonged at this time.

During the service, there was a quartet of young gentlemen who sang. There voices were like angels, there songs were spiritual.

Robin's mother took the podium to speak about her dear daughter. She was an incredible tower of strength as she shared her heart with us. Moving indeed. The only thing she asked of us was that at Christmas time, whenever you pass the Salvation Army's collection buckets that you stop, take a few coins from your pocket and give. I'm sorry I don't remember the words she asked us to speak, but it was along the lines of being thankful for what we have and be thankful that we are able to give.

Towards the end, family and friends were asked to speak, and so many responded. Little Caitlyn even took her turn and told us all that her mommy loved her and took such good care of her and took her to Disney. There wasn't a dry eye to be found.

I know I'm rambling, and I am most certainly not doing justice to what I was just privileged to witness, but I wanted everyone to know that it was beautiful and I am forever touched.

Robin, as the song and prayer goes, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I'm sure Janette will have more to add, including a most touching little thing that Caitlyn said to her just prior to our departing.

Rhonda,

Thanks for sharing this with us. I am so glad you were able to go, and DOUBLY glad that Caitlyn was allowed to attend the service.

Thank you so much for posting. I am glad that Caitlyn was there and pray for her. My thoughts continue to be with them all.

Thank you for sharing this news with us. I'm so glad to hear Caitlyn was brought to the funeral. I know it must be so hard on Robins mom. Hopefully, Robin's ex will see it would be in Catilyn's best interest to continue to let her see her maternal grandmother. So sad, for everyone.:(

Thanks for sharing the service with us, Rhonda.

Many prayers being said for Caitlyn and Robin's family!

Thanks for sharing. I can see why there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I'll keep Caitlyn in my prayers.

I'm back. As Rhonda said it was a beautiful service. I think almost everyone burst into tears when Caitlyn came in. I do wish I had some way of remembering all that was said but it was wonderful. Robin was such a giving person and she had touched many lives.

Rhonda & I talked after about how at DIS meets or other times we saw Robin she always had several kids with her. Sometimes relatives, sometimes just kids who need a friend. She always managed to find them. I know she'd mentioned to me this year that she'd bought annual passes for Six Flags for herself, Caitlyn and some of the other kids in the neighborhood so they were going lots this year.

Before I left for the service I was trying to find something to put a tiny Tinkerbelle pin that I knew would be perfect for Caitlyn. As I looked though my Disney store stash I found just what I was looking, for a little angel Minnie. I hoped to be able to give it to Caitlyn. After the service she came out and I was able to talk with her for just a minute and gave her the Minnie and showed her the pin. She noticed right away the the Minnie was an angel. Her next words were "I'll keep it forever and give it to my mommy when I see her in Heaven.". For the first time since all this began I felt that Caitlyn is going to be okay. Robin loved her enough in the last 5 years to last a lifetime and she will remember that.

Oh Janette. :( That is just heartbreakingly beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing that.

Thank you Rhonda and Jannette. It must have been a sad day for you. What a sweet thing to do for Caitlyn. My heart goes out to her, poor baby.

For sharing this sad time with all of us. Janette, I am glad you were able to give Caitlyn the pin, she will treasure it I am sure. I am hoping for nothing but good things to come Caitlyn's way.......Faith.

Oh I am so thankful that Caitlyn was brought to the service. I prayed that the Lord would help Caitlyn's biological father see that she needed to come and bring her. My prayers continue to be with Caitlyn and Robin's whole family. Thank you for sharing the service with us, Rhonda and Janette.

How nice that you both were able to attend the service and thankyou for sharing those intimate details about how it went.

It sounds like people are all reaching out and comforting one another.
Just as it should be at a sad time like this, I think.

Also, what a sweet gift for a sweet child who I'm sure will NEVER forget about her mother. Her mom left her some wonderful memories, didn't she?

Thank you again, for telling us how the funeral went.

Thanks to both of you for sharing this with us. I am so glad that Caitlyn was there and how kind of you janette to give her the pin.

Thank you for sharing. What an emotional time for everyone. It brings memories back my nephew's funeral which was just a few weeks ago. :(

Thanks for sharing this with us. And how kind to give Caitlyn a Minnie Angel. I can type no more as I'm holding back tears.......thank you

Thank you, Rhonda and Janette for sharing this with us. I am so glad that you were able to attend the service for Robin.

Just reading this has touched my heart and made me teary, I know you must have full hearts from being at the service in person.

I continue to pray for Caitlynn and for Robin's surviving family. They have experienced a huge loss and the spot Robin occupied in their hearts will never be filled.

Katholyn
