I must be the only one who enjoyed the book Wicked! And yes, the musical is just magical!

Ditto....the book was an excrutiating read for me. I absolutely loved the musical; we've seen it twice and I would love to see it again.

Okay, new rule. Once a film reaches a level of greatness such as The Wizard Of Oz, it is under no circumstances allowed to be sequeled, remade, prequeled, spin-off'd...you name it. The film should remain alone as one timeless classic...and never duplicated. We as the movie-going public should decide which films are so timeless that they cannot be tortured with continuations. I would nominate:
-The Wizard Of Oz
-Mary Poppins
-E.T.
-Avatar
-Forrest Gump
-The Sound Of Music
-Jurassic Park (two crappy sequels too late for that film)

I'm on the opposite side of this fence. I generally like seeing prequels and sequels because to me, there is always a back story... a history... a future. How did these characters get to this point? Where do they go from here? I don't think a story is ever done being told.

That's not to say all prequels/sequels are good... but I love the concept of them, just like I enjoy the concept of the same story from a different point-of-view (which is why I was so highly disappointed that I hated Wicked.)
