I just caught the rerun of the TV Land Awards this morning. Did anyone else see when Rob Reiner accepted the Innovator Award for "All in the Family"? He then got on a rant about what Meathead and Archie would be arguing about these days - he went on and on about the Bush Administration, how wrong they are, how wrong the war is, etc. Then said that Archie would respond by doing a "raspberry". Would you say he used the TV Land Awards as a political platform? Or was he simply stating the way an episode of AITF would be written today, based on the points of view of the characters?

Darn! I missed the TVLand awards!

If you remember Meathead and Archie debated Nixon and his policies ad nauseum, I'm sure he meant to update them to today's news headlines. I used to love it when Archie did the "raspberry", it was when he had nothing else to say!

TV Land has been rerunning the awards show frequently - keep looking for it. Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers sang "Those Were The Days" - and sounded very true to the original Archie and Edith version.:D

I believe Rob Reiner and his appropriately named alter ego "Meathead" pretty much shared - and continue to share - the same views.
