Rob Lowe to play the part of Drew Peterson

The case hasn't gone to trial yet but all of the news outlets here are reporting that Rob Lowe is going to play Drew Peterson in a Lifetime movie.

I just hope that Peterson doesn't get any money out of the deal.

I'm rather perturbed that anyone is making *any* money out of this. For pity's sake, they've never even found the poor woman's body. Can't a Lifetime movie wait a few years?

Apparently, Drew wanted Denzel:

“If I was ever in a movie, I was hoping I would be portrayed by Denzel Washington, but I guess Rob Lowe is OK,” Peterson reportedly told his attorney, Joel Brodsky, upon hearing the news, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

I'm rather perturbed that anyone is making *any* money out of this. For pity's sake, they've never even found the poor woman's body. Can't a Lifetime movie wait a few years?

To clarify, he has been charged with the murder of his third wife, Kathleen, who's body was found in a dry bathtub March'04 when they were in a heated divorce.

Stacy is his fourth wife that has been missing since Oct '07. He is a suspect in her diappearance but he has not been charged with any crime connect to it. My opinion is that they will never find her body.

In the meantime, his children have been put through a lot! His oldest with Kathleen just graduated as valedictorian of his high school class but he had distanced himself from the relatives on his mom's side. His second son with Kathleen will graduate next year. His two children with Stacy are at a local elementary school. It's doubtful that they remember their mother. His eldest son, Stephen, was recently fired from his job as a police officer in a nearby community partially because of some of his actions regarding his father.

At times, the real-life story seems too much to have even been thought of in Hollywood.

Rob Lowe playing Drew Peterson...I don't see it physically but I do see how Rob can play him easily. Just need some make-up.

the only good I see out of this venture is if it somehow brings info on Stacey and finances to continue the search for her and then any financial help for the Savio kids and Stacy's kids.
Drew Peterson is a special kind of evil. The thought of a regular/normal type actor in this role is hard to take. I hear Eric Roberts ( Julia's brother) is a jerk in real life..let him take on the role. Or Tom Cruise, I am sure he could apply narcissistic traits quite convincingly.

I would hope not but he's currently sitting in jail collecting a pension of $72,000+ since he retired from the police department. It may have gone up because that figure is from 2008

He is entitled to collect his pension even though he is in jail? WTH is wrong with that!?!

He will continue to collect his pension unless he is convicted of a crime that somehow was connected to his job as a police officer.

I found this from a 2007 article.

"The only thing that would operate to take away his pension, for Sergeant Peterson or any other police officer, is a felony conviction that is related to his employment. It has to be a job-related felony," said Richard Reimer, attorney for Bolingbrook Police pension board."...



"If there was evidence, and there was a conviction that somehow he used or misused his police authority, that would be something the board would consider that could be considered a job-related felony that could cause him to lose his pension," said Reimer"

His wife Kitty- the one he has been charged with killing- was the cousin of a Dis'ser. I can't remember her name though.

If I remember correctly, her name is JoAnn.

I don't think that she posts here often but do you think that I should request that the thread be removed? My intent on this thread was not to bring up horrible memories. The family has been through more than anyone should ever have to endure.

yeah, good point..maybe, yeah it would be better to have it go *poof*, but that brings up the eactual reason for th thread in the first place, the t.v. show. I imagine they are not too happy about it unless as I mentioned, there is something positive out of it all for their family.
