Rob Lowe commercials

In general the Rob Lowe commercials are amusing, BUT.....they're obviously not successful with me because I have no idea what product or service he's pushing.

I wish Jake from State Farm would have a new one.
It was cute at first, but it has been run over and over and over and over. Everyone in the household can recite it by heart. I guess it must be working, but, who hadn't heard about State Farm before hand. If you are already happy with your insurance all this commercial is getting to be is highly annoying. You are correct... time for a change. There seems to be a new Rob Lowe one every couple of weeks and they are funny and original. I think the "poor decision" one is the best so far.

I love it when Deadbeat Rob Lowe says that what his kids watch is now their Stepdad's problem LOL

love them! So sad to see they are going away. I just love the way he says "mayonaise"!

What's funny is that "Creepy Rob Lowe" and "Poor Decision Making Rob Lowe" are both actually... well... you know... Rob Lowe. Because of the whole 16 year old thing. I don't care he was 24 and that 16 was the age of consent on Georgia. Still creepy. Especially since it was taped. Oh, and then there was the time he broke up with Melissa Gilbert after she told him she was pregnant.

Can't say I agree with the reason why. I think because DirecTv had a better ad campaign, Comcast got jealous and threw a hissy fit. I doubt there's anyone out there that would just out of the blue, pick up the phone after one of those commercials and switch. If they did, they'd be doing themselves a disservice by at least not looking at the differences and such.

There are tons of Product A is better than Product B commercials, and these were no exception. Comcast just has too much power.

I'm a fan. Poor Decision Making Rob Lowe is a personal favorite :)

I was watching tmz a couple of weeks ago and someone had filmed Rob Lowe and his son leaving a restaurant. A fan asked Rob to sign a picture of him from the 80s (maybe from Teen Beat) where he was shirtless. His son looked at the picture and proclaimed "Poor decision making Rob Lowe". It cracked me up.

I saw that on Yahoo news. I saw it once and then the article disappeared immediately. I'm a little skeptical about the whole thing. Comcast comes across like a whiny little baby and Direct TV shuts down one of their most successful ad campaigns? Absolutely nothing positive comes out of this for Comcast especially since their name was never mentioned even once. Something is missing from this story, if it was a real report.

Super Creepy Rob Lowe is still my favorite. There are some great subtle things going on that make it ridiculously funny. Total Deadbeat Rob Lowe makes me laugh when he does that shake/dance thing after shooting dice. It's just perfectly awful.
Omg that shake is so hilariously corny!!! I love it!

Who still watches commercials?? Thats why DVRs were invented.
Well I aint got one of dem dare fancy DVR thingies so I just has to watch the TeeVee like a regular folk:crazy:

That commercial has now been replaced with swimsuit model Hannah Davis in a bikini, riding Mr Ed. Win Win IMO.
(yes I know thats not Mr Ed, but I call all talking horses Mr Ed)

I read the article about pulling the commercials this morning, but I didn't realize that Direct TV actually followed thru with it. Comcast said that the add's didn't have any real statistics to back up the claims, about better reception, and blah, blah, blah. Their argument was basically that there was no real proof that one was better than the other. As someone else said though, no one remembers that stuff anyway, and most of us don't pick up a phone and switch because we like a Rob Lowe commercial. In the end, it seems a tad silly to push the issue because of statistics, and it probably had more to do with the publicity surrounding them. I know I've been a few water cooler conversations about them, either A cause it was funny, or B cause it was lame, either way it sticks with you, and you remember them.

Every time I see that commercial I keep saying to myself "I love my wife, I love my wife, I love my wife..."
