I've heard you can bring your own marshmallows to the campfire and roast you own...is this true and do we need to bring our own roasting stick?? Also, are mosquitoes a big problem in August at the campfire?

Yes you can bring your own marshmallows and you will need your own sticks. Also, we were there last Aug and didn't have any skeeters..

IIRC from the recent TCD TR, Disney will sell you sticks if you need them. ;)

Disney will sell you the sticks, chocolate, gr crackers, marshmellows all for the low low price of a zillion dollars. However, you can bring all these things and set them on fire there for free. Have a ball! (And if it keeps raining like it has so far this summer, you will definitely need the bug spray)

Thanks so much! Ya'll have really helped me out! I think I'll pack the bugspray just in case too!

Are there any rules regarding the type of roasting sticks? As in, do they care if they are metal or do they just have to be wooden sticks?

Any sticks are fine. Also BYOB if you care a beer there is not cheap.

Thanks! Thought as much, but I can just imagine some careless person getting burnt by a metal one and complaining. Never know anymore.

We don't drink alcohol, but I'd imagine the water isn't cheap, either. :goodvibes

Well I don't know if I would call it "careless",,but we use the xtra long metal roasting forks,,
theres nothing like a good old fashion branding with a red hot poker,,
makes folk respect ya a little more round the campfire.:lmao:

wait, maybe that is fear around the fire.:rolleyes1

In response to guest requests, Disney has announced they will be providing sticks for roasting marshmallows. Please deposit the sticks in the large bins upon exiting the campfire area so they may be reused the next night. Bobby has assured me that they will attempt to sanitize them, but he figures if you get a stick with some residual marshmallow guts stuck to it, consider it a Magical Moment.

Okay, Frank. If my kids sleep in for some unknown reason, I will have them look for you after I arm them with the roasting forks I bought. :lmao:

A word of caution,,
apparently I have great accuracy with catapulting flaming mallows off of long handled roasting forks (even if it was a accident).

You may want to get the young'ns in a little practice,,:lmao:

So,,DOES YOUR HUBBY FISH ??

I'm imagining a group of 10 year old boys turning their red hot pokers...er...roasting forks...into light sabers.

That sounds like it should be added to the activity list at the campground!

Didn't someone say that they've gotten rid of dodgeball?

They should replace it with Flaming Marshmallow Dodging.

I'd play.

So,,DOES YOUR HUBBY FISH ??

Mine?

He does occasionally. Not nearly as much as he'd like.

Lord willing, we'll be down there in October. Checking in 10/5; checking out 10/9.
