Roasted Chestnuts at Christmastime

Hi All

I have read many posts and articles about the holidays at WDW....alot of them state that MGM has roasted chestnuts along the Osborne Festival or Lights walk, let me tell you THEY DONT. We asked every CM that we saw and they did not know what chestnuts were.

I also read that GF had them in the lobby, again THEY DONT. The CM's looked at me like I was nuts.

So if you are expecting to find them anywhere, sorry you are out of luck.

If anyone out there knows of another spot in WDW to find these yummy snack please let me know, DH is a huge fan.

In December 2004 we got roasted chestnuts at the GF. They set up a stand outside (near the valet dropoff/entrance into the lobby). It's not there all the time, so you may want to ask at the valet station (or ask the greeter).

They were roasting them right there, so they probably wouldn't want to do that inside.

Last year in early Dec, me and DBF got chestnuts at the GF. They were in the entrance to the lobby.

Yeah GF is the only place that i have seen them at, even though that was a few years ago...

We went at Christmas 2004 and Thanksgiving 2005. Both years we had chestnuts at MGM. Right next to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground the CS place sold hot cider and the chestnuts.

Last Christmas we also saw them and the hot cider at the Studio Catering Co.

GF definitely has roasted chestnuts. I remembered because I went to visit GF specifically for them...

They are there, right outside the lobby of the GF ground floor entrance. Just had them this past December!

I also think that's Richard in the picture above. If it is, he is the greeter at the GF. What a lovely man. Always there no matter how hot it is in full costume and a smile. He has been there forever, or as long as I can remember.

Thanks eveyone, I went to GF this past Dec and scoured the lobby, asked the conceirge and he did not know anything about it. But now that I am armed with the knowledge from the disboards I will make sure I get my chestnuts this year!!
