We leave next Sunday :woohoo: so I am starting to pack some stuff. I have 2DVD players and lots of DVDs. Then in a small plastic container, I packed some books, coloring books, and some of their favorite toys. I am not worried about my 3 yo, if you put in Chip n Dale or Bugs Bunny, she will watch them for hours. However I am concerned about keeping my 17 month old entertained. Anything toy wise anyone has had great success with for 17 month old?
I also have a good selection of snacks for them along the way :) We are leaving at midnight Sunday morning, so hopefully they will sleep at least 8 hours of that trip. But after our week in Orlando we head to Panama City for a week then home again, so there is another 2 long road trips.

We used a small metal cookie tray and some magnets when we traveled across the country for a recent move -- worked great!! Kept the kids busy and it also made a great place to color, put snacks, etc.

That is such a great idea. I would have never thought of it.

How about some new toys or even a DVD for the little one to watch like Sesame Street or Blues Clues.

OMG, that is great! I was just at the dollar store looking for a small magnetic board  Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! I have cruised the toy isles and just do not see anything exciting or we already have it :) I am set for DVDs for both of them, my 17 month old is not easily distracted by TV like my 3 yo.

what great ideas,
Our car has a built in DVD
but we are taking a playstation as well:worship:

No playstation at our house...yet
I just worry that I packed too, much then I think about 2 kids sitting in the back seat screaming:eek:

Went to the dollar store and found 2 small trays that will be perfect in the car for magnets and snacks...thanks for the great tip!
