Wondering if I should use a fp for RNRC for our 7 (almost 8 at time of the trip) ds. Last year he was 1 inch to short. So I suppose this is all assuming he grows 1 inch in 11 months. His favorite rides are space mountain and 7dmt. He was really nervous to ride splash mountain, tower of terror, and ee because of the heights. He wound up loving splash. He says he wants to ride tower of terror again which kind of surprises me. I don't think he will be scared going into RNRC because he can't see it and again space mtn is his absolute favorite. He loves the speed and thrill but the heights scare him will he be okay going on RNRC?

I would have him look at the ride on you tube first to be sure he knows what he's getting into. At 7, my DD wouldn't go on it, but every child is different.

We just got back. My DD7 loved RnRC and says it's her favorite WDW ride. I didn't ride it, as I was on TSMM with DS5, so I can't comment on the ride myself. She does also love ToT, Splash, 7DMT, EE, if that helps.

I have in my head that it is similar to space mountain so he will love it. May be because it is indoors. EE is the only ride he says he doesn't want to ride again and it's because it goes up so high that is the only thing that scares him.

RnRC is similar to Space Mountain with being a darker indoor roller coaster. The initial launch is super fast and there are lit up signs along the track that you can see. It also does loop upside down. I took my oldest on it back in 2012 when she was 7 and she was a little apprehensive at first when she saw the cars launching so fast. When we got off of the ride, she told me she couldn't even tell that it had gone upside down and she wanted to do it again. I think he will enjoy it if he likes speed. Honestly, you can't see well enough on the ride to tell how high up it is. I say go for it! you can also watch it on Youtube and they may even have one there with the lights on so you can see if it is too high for him.

My six year old wants to go.. He's a little under an inch too short right now. If he grows enough by September I said we'd go. I think if he likes space he'll like rnrc.

RnRC eliminates my 2 biggest dreads for roller coasters - the long slow apprehension filled climb up to the top for the first drop and the stomach rolling glance down at the endless drop that follows. That makes it one of my favorites. The rocket launch start is so much easier to bear than a slow climb. My DD, not a thrill seeker at all and not a big coaster fan, had just turned 8 when she rode it for the first time. She was totally fine on it. If your child likes thrill rides he will love it. If he doesn't, he will still be fine and will be able to tell all of his friends that he went on a loop coaster.

My 5 year old would happily ride if she was tall enough. If your son wants to ride, let him.

EE is the only ride he says he doesn't want to ride again and it's because it goes up so high that is the only thing that scares him.

Yeah, I agree but after going on Expedition Everest a few times, I can NOW "look at the lake".

There's nothing like that a Rock N Roller Coaster. There's no sight stuff. The launch is pretty intense but if your son doesn't mind that (he will not "go up"), he should be fine. And really, the launch is a mind game. But make it fun. When the countdown starts, chant along with it, and remember you will be rockin and rollin with Aerosmith. You could research the songs that are played in the cars and get him used to that. Then he just sings for the rest of the ride.
