What is the closest walk you can get to the food court and/or bus stops? We're traveling with MIL and while we'll be renting scooters for her in the park I'm worried about the resort. Unfortunately POFQ is out <sniff> that would have been perfect. Would CBR be better? Everything seems SO spread out on the maps.

I'd go with a deluxe if it would be better, but I'm not sure if FL resident or AP codes will be out so I think I better price out moderates and off-site in case we can't swing the rack rate deluxes.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I am looking at the map now. I just got back yesterday.
the closest to the main buildings are:
alligator bayou 14 or 15
mansions Oak Manor(smoking i think) or Magnolia Terrace.
It is a very large resort and spread out.
We stayed at Acadian house and were near the parking lot.
If you are driving and stayed near a parking lot, you could drive over to the main building.
there are 4 bus stops.
I have never been to CBR, but i hear it is even bigger resort than POR.
You don't say when you are going, but if it is after January, there is an extra $10/nite charge to stay in a "preferred" room location close to everything.

At POR ask for building 14 in the Alligator Bayou
At CBR Martinique or Trinidad North would get you near the food court and main pool.

CBR is spread out but unless you are in Trinidad North your walk would be about 5-10 mins to the food court area.

Why take a chance on a scooter not being available at the park when you need it? You can rent a scooter that you can use anywhere (they break down into small pieces for easy auto transport? There are several rental sources (Walker, Randy's, etc.) all listed in the Disabilities section of the DISboards. That way you can rest your mind about which room you may or may not be able to get and save your MIL in case an ECV is not available at the park...? They don't cost as much to rent as upgrading to a delux and the rental places deliver to your resort.
