Could someone tell me how the food is here? We are staying @ POR for 7 nights in Nov. and wanted to eat at the food court a couple of times to save a bit...How is it? The atmosphere ? Service? Food? Thanks!

While we havent been there in almost 4 years, the 2 times we stayed at POR, then DXL, we were very pleased with the food court. We found it to be good food at a decent price. I remember the personal pizzas to be exceptionally good, but like I said, that was quite a while ago.

Our last trip to POR was August of 2002. We ate at the Food court several day for breakfast, late dinners or snack. Enough choices to satisfy all 5 of us. and decent prices. I really liked the seating areas. There were lots of places, some out in the open , some in quiet corners. It was only a 3 minute walk from our room, so we would walk over for a snack and drink after returning from the parks at night. Loved the beignets, although somehave said they are no longer there??? Not sure. All in all, not a bad food court.

We also liked Boatwrights Restaurant. Did one dinner there one night, and really enjoyed it. Be sure to catch a show of Piano Bob in the River Roost Lounge!! He is fantastic. You can hear him from both Boatwright's and the dining hall, but sit in on one or two of his shows for a real hoot. Kids are welcome, even though it is a lounge!

Have a good trip! I am so jealous!!!

We were at POR at the beginning of July 2004 and ate in the food court on several occasions. The atmosphere was great and there was always lots of room. There is one section for the kids with a TV and pictures for the kids to color. The prices were normal for Disney and the food was very good. The service at the place where you got burgers was a little slow. All in all the food court was good.

We stayed one night at POR in October 2003, prior to checking in at OKW.......we travelling all day from Seattle and my brothers family travelling all night(by train) from Philadelphia, met at the Food Court..........we weren't expecting much, but were very pleasantly surprised! We all(9 of us) had our choice of lots of things....at reasonable(for Disney) prices and they were all pretty high quality/tasty meals! I am not a food court fan, normally....but this one really was worth it. We also had breakfast there the next morning, prior to EE......so at 6:30/7am......again, reasaonable, many choices and tasty. I think you will find it to be a winner!

Have Fun!

Stayed at POR Oct 03. DH LOVES THE FOOD COURT!! So much so that he wants to visit there for an omelet during our upcoming trip! (We are staying at the YC and the WL) The omelets are huge and sooo stuffed and made to order. The cakes are delicious as well. They have some fun items for kids as well. Worms in dirt and different pudding cups.

The pizza is pretty good at the food court also.

Boatwrights, the full service restaurant is also very good for breakfast. (The smoothies are very good and so is the banana stuffed french toast!)

Enjoy your trip!!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!!

We stayed at POR in May this year. The food court was very good. The food was varied in tastes...I had a veggie sandwich that was yummy, kids had pizza, can't remember what dh had. They had burgers, pasta, lots of different stuff. We did breakfast there once too...I enjoyed the croissont breakfast sandwich, kids had the children's platters, although the french toast platter wasn't large enough for my growing 9 y/o ds, and he could have eaten the adult portion. I thought the prices were fairly high, but then again, it's Disney so you expect it. The seating area was huge and we never had a problem finding a table. I didn't find the CM's at the foodcourt overly welcoming or helpful.
We also ate at Boatwright's once for breakfast and once for dinner. We enjoyed breakfast very much (banana stuffed french toast...yummy!) but dinner was another story. Very pricey for the quality of the food. I didn't enjoy it much at all. The CM's at Boatwright's were very nice, friendly and service was great. Our CM who served us breakfast was especially nice, and discovered through talking with us and our children that we were there celebrating both of our kids birthdays. To our surprise, she brought them each a Mickey rice krispie treat with a candle in it, and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. It was a special memory for our kids!

I'd suggest checking out Boatwright's for breakfast instead of eating at the food court every day. In my experience, it's only a few dollars difference to eat in the sit-down restaurant and it's more relaxing.
