We are a family of 4 and want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside. I've heard the Alligator Bayou section has trundle beds in some of their rooms. Is it possible to get a trundle bed if there are only 4 people in the group and not 5? It sure would be nice to "spread out". :cool1:

They reserve those rooms for families with 5, so unless you luck out and the resort is not full, your chances wouldn't be that good. The trundle is very small by the way - and it doesn't mean the room is any bigger (relative to your spreading out comment).

When we went there, we only had 4 of us, we requested Alligator Bayou and got it. My friend got there 2 days after us, also 4 of them, they also requested Alligator Bayou and ended up in the Mansions.

I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed! Either way, I don't care, we will be in DISNEY WORLD!!!! :cool1:

We are going in August and I put on my reservation a request for a room with a trundle. We are a family of 4 and my daughter is horrible to sleep with (she hogs all of the blankets). While I am hoping to get a trundle I know it can't be guaranteed. And you're right, we're still at Disney.

How do you request a room? Do you just call the guest services number or fax it in or call the resort? And is it better to make a request now or closer to the time we travel? :confused3

Call the reservations line and ask to add a request to your current reservation.

As was said, the trundle rooms in AB will first go to those who are a party of 5. If they have room, they might be able to meet your request!

Either way, have a great time!

Call and ask the cm to add this to your request for rooming. They will try to accomodate you unless the resort is full and families of 5 need the room. It never hurts to ask.:goodvibes

As a party of three we requested and received a room in AB. When we arrived they had us on the back side of Acadia House, so we asked very nicely if she could possible move us into a first floor room in AB. She checked and then offered us a room in either AB 18 or 27. Even though we didn't need it, out of curiosity I looked when we got in the room and sure enough there was a trundle under the bed. Anyway call CRO and have the CM add the request. When you get there, if you didn't get it, ask nicely. If they can, most of the CMs will try to meet guests requests.

We were a party of 3 the first time we stayed at POR and when we arrived in our room there was a trundle under the bed. Our son was so enamored of it he slept on it once just to do it. I think your best bet is to place a request for it on your reservation, remind them of it at checkin, and hope for the best while going into it knowing you may not get it. That way it is wonderful if you get it but not devastating if you don't . We use this attitude on our stays and have found it really helps. On a sidenote: POR is wonderful! It is our "home" resort in the moderate category and really love the ambiance there. We feel it is such an extension of the MK with its heavy theming. We have tried other moderates but keep looking back to it when we book in that category. Hopefully you will enjoy it too!:)

We just stayed at POR in February and have been there other times as well. This time we booked a preferred room (extra cost - but not too much at the time we went anyway.) This guarantees a room close to the main buildings - which for us anyway - ended up being AB. I would imagine they would primarily consider the AB side to be preferred as the walk to the main buildings is decent from even the closest room on the Mansions side. I was hoping by booking preferred location we'd get AB because with a teenage daughter who does not want to sleep with her younger brother - the trundle is fantastic! Sure enough that's just what we got even though we didn't check in until after 8 p.m. we still got an AB room. So, I'd think about booking preferred and noting AB on your request for an even better chance.

We requested it one time but were put in mansions-too busy with bigger families due to FD. can't hurt to try though.

The preferred rooms at PORS are AB 14, 15, 18, and 27, so if you book preferred you are guaranteed to be in the AB section. None of the mansions are preferred at this time.
