Do you know what Fantasmic's is, off the top of your head?

According to this it's roughly 10,000

Hollywood Hills Amphitheater[edit]

Hollywood Hills Amphitheater stage for Fantasmic!

Hollywood Hills Amphitheater rear entrance
The Hollywood Hills Amphitheater is a purpose-built seat riverside amphitheatre at the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park in the Walt Disney World Resort, Florida, that showcases the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! It is located off of Sunset Boulevard, between theTwilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Beauty and the Beast stage show. The Fantasmic! stage in Florida is much larger than Disneyland's, featuring a man-made, 50-foot-tall (15 m) mountain on which Sorcerer Mickey stands and from which the dragon (code-named "Bucky") emerges. The amphitheater has 6,900 seats, with room for an additional 3,000 people standing.[9] The moat around the island itself can hold 1,900,000 U.S. gallons (7,200,000 L) of water.[9]

On September 15, 2015, it was announced that Pop Secret would become the official sponsor of Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios.[10] Prior to this, Fantasmic! was the only nighttime fireworks show at Walt Disney World without a sponsor, with Wishes gaining sponsorship from Pandora Jewelry in 2014,[11] while IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth was sponsored by General Electric from 1999 to 2003 and sponsored by Siemens since 2005.[12]

While there are certainly a lot of Disney Fanatics out there who want to see ROL, whenever AK is open late, people still clear out in droves by 5 or so when the animal areas are closed. With ROL and Padnora, it should be able to draw people as a night time destination, but maybe Disney thinks it will not draw as well as we are assuming?? the last time I was there after 7, all rides including EE was a walk on for the last hour.

I got the impression that it would be 2 shows at first when it was new and busy, but would be an ending show most nights. Of course that may just depend on how the crowds are.

When we did the backstage tour of Fantasmic, we were told the seating capacity was around 7,000 but they could accommodate another 3,000 standing. I certainly have my doubts about RoL having that many available spots, but that's just from seeing the pictures. Maybe once it's complete there will be more space than what we're picturing right now.

DH works in corporate and gets previews to stuff like this but I'm rarely invited, and our 3-year old is almost never invited! So I'm hoping for a dinner package too, preferably one that doesn't bankrupt me!

That's lame that you don't get to go along to previews. I would get so pissy about that. ;)

Why wouldn't they?

Offering Fast Passes will spread out the Fast Passes in a park that has few options to begin with. Plus .. as a hot new attraction there will be high demand for it. Even though (like most of the night shows) you can probably see it easily without one, some people just want that peace of mind of having an actual seat.

Dining Packages? Why not .. it sells meals at their restaurants!

Don't forget Night Safaris.

When everything comes online,I think DAK will explode with excitement and "approach" Epcot for #2 park in attendence.

I think that's what they're setting it up to be - it'll handle crowds while Star Wars is built and Epcot languishes untouched. That's why I'm so curious about ROL's capacity to handle crowds. There will also be the projections on the Tree of Life - maybe they'll do multiple shows of both and people can alternate between the two.

I don't know of any reason to assume they wouldn't offer the money-making meals. All the night time shows have FP now too so no reason to assume that wouldn't be offered as well.

I am so afraid that we will book our FP+ at the 60 day mark, then find out down the road that ROL or Night Safari will actually be open for the dates of our trip and be unable to have the 60+ day on-site advantage.

I have my doubts about a dessert package, just because of the dance element. They've been auditioning dancers and the like. This makes it more like F! than like Symphony, Wishes or Illuminations, and F! lacks a dessert party due to its nature.

You can always change your FP+. If you're regularly on the Dis you'll hear about any news pretty much immediately, and much before the majority WDW visitors who do comparatively little research. Worst case scenario you'll wait standby for both. You'll still be at WDW experiencing awesome new stuff! :)

They will probably do it with YAY, and have a separate seating area, that blocks the pathway for the rest of us.

At World of Color at California Adventure, Fastpass is required to get into the viewing area. I wouldn't be at all surprised is Rivers of Light did something similar
