Rivers of Light to debut April 22nd

Rumors are flying about soft openings in the days before the official opening.

I hope there are, it seems like quite a few people are leaving JUST before it officially starts, so it would be cool if they got to see the soft opening before they leave, yourself included.

Thanks, and I do realize that any opening day that would have been chosen, there would have been people who have to leave the previous day.

What does everyone think is going to happen on Tuesday? Will it be just a question and answer type thing or will there be some other big revelations?

Probably just a question and answer, the DPB doesn't usually do big things with the live chats.

Aww there goes my excitement. It doesn't seem like there will be too many different things to ask. How many shows a day, how long will park stay open, how will seats be divided up.

I specifically planned my trip to be at ak on earth day. Do you think ak will do anything more than usual this year?

Also, I'm hoping to be able to purchase tickets to some of the preview parties that are rumored, have you heard anything about those?

I have heard that a hard ticket preview event might be happening but no confirmation on that. There is also supposed to be a media event as well. We should be finding out more within the next couple weeks.

I imagine the debut will be overwhelmingly packed.
I think it might be worse being there on the 22nd, and STILL not get to see it.

Yes, that would be worse, especially if you had to change all your plans around, and/or spend extra money.

That's kind of why I'm hoping to be able to get tickets to a preview or a tusker house dining package.

I'm not usually a fantasmic dining package person, never did it before. I'm willing to do it for ROL since I love ak and I'm so excited to see it. I think a one time extra cost would be worth it to me personally.

I'm a former DAK cast member and am losing my mind of RoL! haha not really but I have a special place in my heart for that park and all the stories and theming that are woven through it! Anyway we leave WDW April 19th but as of right now have limited plans for the 18th...running the Star Wars Dark Side half marathon the day before as well as packing the majority of our park touring into that weekend since some of my family will be leaving early. Anyone know of a way, as a guest, to find out if there will be soft opening/previews for this on the 18th? As a cast member we had opportunities to go to that kind of stuff all the time but I really have no idea how guests find out about them haha

Can't imagine that they would announce any type of soft opening ahead of time. I'd guess it would be a day of, in park announcement.

This looks amazing and I'm betting it'll be a tear jerker! I can't wait to see it when I'm there next spring!

That makes sense. So, that implies no fastpasses or dining packages for the soft openings. Too bad.

I'm hoping for a dining package at either Tusker House or Yak & Yeti. Hopefully the park schedule with night time hours will be released soon. If dining packages are not available I hope to get some FP's. My date to make FP's is May 28th. Either way AK at night will be a new experience that I'm looking forward to!
