Rivers of Light Dining Package Question

I've been attempting to book the RoL dining package on MDE but you can only book through June right now. Any idea why that is or when July will open up to be booked?

My guess is they are waiting to see how things are going and make tweaks before opening bookings for the summer

I feel your frustration 100%. I have called both disney dining and DVC - they say they have no idea when or if it will be opened. So I sent an email and the response I got.. "

needless to say this is not true. I am trying for July 10th and my 180 day window has long passed. So I sent a screen shot of MDE and how it was NOT available. I am now awaiting another reply from them.. if I get one at all.

Note that ROL showtimes are not on park calendars after June 30 yet.

No showtimes = no package bookings, by general rule.

Yes - but my 180 day mark was January 3rd - of this year. So if that were true I would be able to book it and I can not. I did hear back again from them today and they said they will be opening up more dates "soon".

I feel your pain! We have a trip coming up in August and are past the 180 day mark at this point. In a few days I will be going on a vacation overseas where I will have limited internet access--I'm so worried that the ROL package reservations will open up while I am gone and I will miss out on booking.

Yes. "Soon". It is what it is. The schedule hasn't been updated yet. I am waiting too, but understand the issues. Soon is OK for us.

July was up this past weekend for a time as I booked one for July 2 at Tusker House. They were up then down and as of a few minutes ago down again so I have no idea what's going on.

I noticed that if you go on the app it doesn't show anything but when you go on the actual Disney website there were available times.

I went to the disney website and went to the rivers of light dining package page. I put in august and it let me book tusker house breakfast. However, it didn't say rivers of light package and on the app it doesn't list it either. I fake booked june and it stated ROL package in my confirmation page. I think it's just a regular TH adr. I'm not worried, worst case I will use a fp. With avatar opening I may have to hit AK 2x anyway. It all depends on if and what tiers they have.

My question is im guessing animal kingdom will have to be opened later for ROL considering it doesn't get dark til like 830-900 in the summer. And so far the August calendar is showing open til 7

If I understand correctly, a dining package costs more than the regular buffet price at Tusker House, but you get the same dinner, right? So if you have more than 6 people in your party, will they charge you the 18% gratuity based on the ROL package price or the regular dinner price?
