Rivers of Light Dining Package Lookout Thread - NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS

You have to cancel what you have and book the other reservation. I would suggest doing this from a computer and not the app because you can chose to cancel the original while booking the new reservation all in one process and it will actually hold your original reservation until you have confirmation of your new reservation. The mobile app is suppose to do the same thing but I've heard people have lost their original and ended up with no reservation because the mobile system didn't hold on to their original like it is suppose to.

Website is sufficient. I honestly trust it more than people on the phone. I've lost everything due to people on the phone and had to rebook it all myself. Plus the phone can have crazy wait times when new reservations come out.

:thumbsup2 ::yes::

Can you just change it though? Just thinking that when you book a fantasmic package, you have to book it through a fantasmic package, and not merely a reservation at say Mama Melrose.

Nope -- cannot change it -- unless Disney does this here for the first time ever. You'd have to do just as @wilkeliza said above. Cancel the old/regular ADR and book a new package ADR.

Just tweaked my schedule to include AK evening, but really hoping it is ROL by then! We're on the dining plan and it sure would help to know if FT or TH for sure would be included and for how many credits and for FT if CS or TS?

I think I read the rumor that the FT package will not be bookable as a QS credit. We may have to pay out of pocket for that one. It will be interesting to see. It would be a great deal if we could use one QS credit for it. It is possible, since FT now has a $19.99 lunch entree that is a QS credit.

I am predicting that FT will be an OOP experience (I think I saw $24.99?) while TH package will be one TS credit and Tiffins will be a two TS service credit. That is just based on rumors I have read so far.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but some were saying they were booking and another one said to use the computer change option. Since there is no bookable package right now, it seemed like you'd just be changing your regular reservation?

If you use change option it will give you new adrs number and is subject to availability and send you cancelaction. So it's not just switching your adrs really is cancel and rebook

We are going in October and I am just starting to research all this. We originally werent going until June 2017 so I hadnt been following all of this. So now I am going the ranks hoping for either a dining reservation package or fp!!!

Yes I have changed a few ADRs. Didnt notice the new #s, will make note Just didn't realize you could change from a non-package to a package. I guess it's a non-issue though, because it doesn't sound like there would be any benefit now to having a reservation at a place ahead of time.

Keep in mind though that the Fantasmic dining packages I've seen are not "prime" dinner time ADRs...most of them were before 4 or 5.

That's been my experience too. For Fall dates (early October), usually the *last* package ADR is for 5:00 pm, for an 8:30 Fantasmic. In winter, the last package ADRs are even earlier.

It may be easier to try to get a FP+ for a later show, since the later shows will not be included in the dining packages.

I like this idea. Especially if it's a day when we're not doing much. Then I won't care about tying up 3rd FP way ahead of time to make sure I have it. Maybe stay in that morning, use pool, have nice meal wherever and head over to AK later with a Kali and something else FP and ROL FP.

We have had Fantasmic at Mama Melrose twice. Both times after 5pm. I read in another thread they may add later dining for Fantasmic when they add an additional show.

I wonder how this shows up online. In the past, only the first Fantasmic show had reserved dining seating. If you look at the times in the drop-down menus, the last time slot is 4:30. This is not availability, this is simply the times to search (there may or may not be availability for 4:30). For summer, I would imagine they could allow a 5:30 package, since the first Fantasmic is late, but I've yet to see reserved seating for the second Fantasmic. Do you have a link to the thread?

It seems like it would need to be at least an hour and a half prior, given the time it takes to eat, get to the venue, find seats. I was under the impression that even with the dining package seating you still needed to show up well in advance of showtime?
