I have a few questions, sorry if they are dumb :( I keep seeing posts about the Rivers of America being drained. Where is the Rivers of America? Is that the big water area outside POC that you walk around to get to say HM? Why are the draining it? Are they putting the water back? Hummm, so many questions. I'm just so curious. Any info would be great. Thanks!

1. Is that the big water area outside POC that you walk around to get to say HM?
2. Why are the draining it?
3. Are they putting the water back?

1. Yes
2. General refurbishment for the Fantasmic fountains and pipes etc.
3. Ummmm yes of course.

I believe the draining is supposed to happen early next year when WoC is supposed to premiere or a little bit earlier. This will prevent the rafts to Pirate's Lair, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Fantasmic from being operational while the river is drained.

I can't imagine that is going to look very pretty.
I think the lake at California Adventure looks horrible too. When will that have water again?
They are so much prettier with water. :lovestruc

1. It won't look pretty, that's why they will put up tall construction walls to block out the yuck. It will also smell pretty nasty the first week or so after they drain it.

2. It should be refilled by the end of Oct.<<fingers crossed>>

3. I agree!

Sorry 29, I had to steal your formatting idea! :lmao:

It's ok. I stole it from the famous Robo on the WDW boards! :lmao::lmao:

DLR29.....since you omitted the Canoe ride from the list of attractions that will be down, are we to assume that Dis visitors will portage (carry) the canoes around ol' Tom's island? ;)

:lmao:

Yes, of course. I heard that they are also going to have a weight lifting station outside of the ride, measuring how much you can lift so that little kids won't be able to ride if they aren't able to lift the canoe. Bummer because this will be a once in a lifetime experience. I'd imagine the line for this will be very long because everyone will want to carry a canoe around an empty ditch. Better put this on the list with Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Space of things to do first thing before the crowds come in.
