Riveria closeout

And plenty of people say that PIT looks like an ugly hospital, which isn't complimentary either.
People love to hate Riviera, Poly, and CFW.
I think aside from CFW. It comes down to people not loving towers. BLT gets a ton of flack for that. People love the old school very well done DVC properties. The towers just have a cheap feel to them. No wow factor.

Maybe. Then again, people definitely have a "wow" factor of some of the Vegas casino resorts, and they are almost all towers. Granted, that's a totally different demographic.

Nothing will probably trump the hate for LSL however 😵‍💫
It will be intersting to see. If it doesn't get the hate that RIV gets, then there definitely is something to RIV being the first to have restrictions that caused the hate. But if LSL gets more hate, then certainly there are other factors at play.

Right. Disney decided to go cheap to give them no wow factor. Towers can have a wow. Poly Tower did get more wow than BLT and VDH and even RIV imo. But it still doesnt feel the same when they went from using real natural materials to using fake laminated stuff.

LSL has no identity. It looks like a hodgepodge of woodland creatures and princesses with a lazy river in hopes that people will care. It has a million rooms, will be easy to book, over priced, restrictions, no view, far away, and i cant wait to go. There, I started it.

Riviera and Poly Tower are our favorite rooms (1BR specifically) on property. (Location wise we still prefer BW/BC and maybe BLT) They are modern feeling and quite large in sq ft. We went directly from Poly 1BR to BCV 1 BR this last trip and the BCV was so much smaller afterwards!

Towers also keep things closer to the elevators and less long confusing hallways. Our stays in PIT and RIV have never had as long of a walk as some of the longer hallways at BC/BW (haven't stayed at Kidani yet lol) And in theory they help keep maintenance fees lower.

If Riviera has a close out sale or Poly has a decent sale to get more sold before LSL opens then I could see picking up more points at either.

I totally understand what you're saying when it comes to BLT and VDH (although I've never seen VDH in person), but I tend to give RIV a pass on this, because there are hotels on the French Riviera that look very similar. I'm sure RIV was built more cheaply than those are, and I'm biased for sure, but it does match the look they were going for.

Yes! I love the new room layouts and sense of newness. But the lobby and exterior leave much to be desired. Although I actually like the exterior of RIV alot.

I dont have a real issue with the towers per se. I was also kind of saying what I see others say. They just think the new DVC stuff looks like a Hilton or whatever. I can say for me personally Poly and VDH completely missed the mark. Poly they tried to make it nice and it just all looks faux. VDH they just didnt try at all.

I agree that after staying at PIT and Riv the interior rooms at the older resorts seem... much less luxurious

RIV's lobby is decidedly not a place to hang out, and that's quite a bit different from e.g. the Lodges, the Grand, and maybe the Contemporary. But I don't think that any of Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk lobbies really excel as places to hang out either.

RIV's "places to hang out" tend to be outside/in open air, which is a great idea on the French Riviera, and not a great idea for many months of the year in Orlando.
