What ever happend to Tom Sawyers ol stomping grounds? I wasnt able to go to Disney for a couple years and in Sept when i went it was no more. What happend?

For several years I think TL and BB sort of pushed it to back burner.I did like it though and was sorry to see it close. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

Anyone ever heard anything about what they plan to do with that area?? It is a big space, with some neat features....seems a shame to just let it all sit there unused....erverytime I ride the boat over to Ft Wilderness I think about how fun it was and wish they would do something with that area!!

did they moveall the animals that were there over to AK? Wouldnt it be grea if they put some kind of like Big Arcade out there or a Dance club or something like that. It's such a huge aream and i think they could do something real cool with it. Maybe even astar observation place.

I actually just read on a website about this... it appears that sometimes they still use it for private parties and that there was talk of it being exclusive for Ft Wilderness guests. Other sites state lack of accessability, inability to heat the water (from the lagoon) and other issues call for its demolition. I guess it's one of those disney secrets we won't know for sure until the time comes... (i.e. when they starting backfilling 20000 leagues under the sea, we realized it was never coming back.)

River Country Closing Info

We stayed at Ft. Wilderness this past weekend and saw River Country everytime we took the boat over the to Magic Kingdom. I think its sad that River Country and Discovery Island are now closed. We really enjoyed both places when my kids were younger. Re-opening River Country would be great for Ft. Wilderness guests, I really like Typhoon lagoon, but sometimes you want to be in a smaller place than one that holds over 7500 other people.
